The Perma Pure MD series gas sample dryer uses Nafion selective permeation membrane tubes to continuously dry the airflow, removing only water vapor. These dryers can operate over a wide range of temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, drying to a dew point as low as -60 ° C.

working principle
The MD series gas dryer transfers moisture from a single airflow to a counter current blowing airflow, just like a shell and tube heat exchanger transfers heat. Water molecules pass through the Nafio tube wall and evaporate into the blowing airflow. The difference in water concentration between two airflows drives the reaction, rapidly drying the air or gas. The blowing gas should be dry (-40 ° C dew point) air or other gases. If there is no drying gas, a portion of the gas dried by the MD series dryer can be diverted or refluxed as a purge gas.
