A three-phase on load tap changer is a switch that can switch contacts under load. System loss: When the transmission power is constant, the system loss is inversely proportional to the square of the operating voltage. If the voltage decreases, the current and loss increase accordingly.

a. Comparison of voltage improvement schemes for power lines
In order to improve the voltage level of the power line and ensure the quality of power supply, effective measures must be taken to regulate the voltage of lines with severe voltage drops. At present, there are several ways to regulate line voltage:
1. Constructing small substations (disadvantages: large investment, long cycle)
2. Replace the wiring (Disadvantages: high investment, long cycle)
3. Change transformer tap (disadvantage: small adjustment range)
4. Install compensating capacitors (disadvantage: small adjustment range)

b. Comparison with on load transformer
1. From a cost perspective, a line regulator is an autotransformer that has a lower cost compared to an on load regulator transformer.
2. Users using on load transformers can only change the voltage of a single user, while line regulators can adjust the voltage of the entire user group, greatly reducing costs.
3. Voltage regulation can also be achieved using ordinary on load transformers, but on load voltage regulation transformers have high impedance, generally reaching 4% -6% or more, and have a large voltage drop on the line. The impedance of the distribution line voltage regulator developed by our company is less than 1%, which has a very small voltage drop on the line.
