The Importance of Online Monitoring System for Dust in Coal Storage Yard
1. In terms of environmental protection, real-time monitoring of dust concentration can help enterprises comply with environmental regulations and avoid penalties for excessive emissions. It can also provide data for regional environmental quality monitoring, in order to take measures to reduce dust pollution, improve the living environment of surrounding residents, and protect the ecosystem from harmful substances in dust.
From the perspective of occupational health and safety, the system monitors workplace dust in real time and alarms when the concentration exceeds the safety limit, ensuring employee health and reducing the risk of occupational diseases such as pneumoconiosis. At the same time, it can effectively control dust concentration, prevent dust explosions, and maintain the safety of coal storage yards.
In terms of enterprise operation management, it helps to analyze the dust generation situation in the operation process, optimize processes, such as improving loading and unloading methods. And it can reduce environmental protection investment, lower the cost of dust prevention consumables, avoid coal losses due to dust flying, and control operating costs.
The online monitoring system for coal storage dust includes four parts: infrared scanning temperature measurement system, coal yard side wall temperature monitoring system, gas detection system, and coal yard fuel safety information platform.
1、 Dust concentration monitoring subsystem
The dust concentration monitoring subsystem is used to monitor the real-time concentration of dust in coal yards through sensors, transmission equipment, etc.
2、 Coal pile temperature monitoring subsystem
(1) Infrared thermometer online monitoring subsystem
The infrared thermometer online monitoring subsystem can monitor 24 hours a day and upload data.
(2) Infrared thermal imaging instrument online monitoring subsystem
The online monitoring subsystem of the infrared thermal imaging instrument can monitor the temperature of the coal yard in real time, playing a preventive role.
(3) Probe based temperature measurement online monitoring subsystem
The probe based temperature measurement online monitoring subsystem wirelessly transmits temperature data of the coal pile to the host and upper computer, achieving 24-hour real-time monitoring.
(4) Buried temperature measurement cable online monitoring subsystem
The buried temperature measurement cable online monitoring subsystem selects the temperature measurement cable to be buried on the ground according to the stacking situation of the coal pile on site, comprehensively detecting the temperature changes at the bottom of the coal pile. The collector can choose a fixed wall or other convenient wiring location, and select the 485 transmission method to upload all temperature data from the collection points to the monitoring host, achieving 24-hour uninterrupted monitoring.
3、 Gas monitoring subsystem
In the early stages of spontaneous combustion, due to low-temperature oxidation, carbon monoxide is produced, and the concentration of oxygen also changes. Therefore, it is necessary to set up detection devices for carbon monoxide and oxygen for real-time monitoring, in order to detect early and take timely measures. Due to coal oxidation or ventilation system failure, oxygen concentration may decrease. In order to ensure the safety of the working environment, it is necessary to ensure that the oxygen concentration is above 18% VOL; The content of combustible gas methane (CH4) in the air should be below 1.5%. Taking advantage of the fact that methane is more easily diffused than air, a methane concentration detector should be installed at the upper part of the coal yard where the exhaust flow is concentrated for real-time monitoring.
4、 Open flame coal monitoring subsystem
The temperature monitoring subsystem for open flame coal includes: infrared detection device, sprinkler fire extinguishing device, main control machine for open flame coal, etc.
5、 Platform
The data of each subsystem is uploaded to the platform, which displays the real-time situation on site.
