Olympus portable X-ray crystal XRD with X-ray diffractometer
The world's first battery powered commercial portable XRD analyzer is replaced by the TERRA II analyzer, which is equipped with a windproof, rainproof, and durable housing. Powered by batteries, it can work continuously for up to 6 hours, allowing for mineral detection and analysis in outdoor environments, providing users with quick information on the main and secondary components of minerals.
The TERRA II analyzer provides powerful features that can replace traditional XRD instruments, is lightweight, easy to carry, and requires almost no maintenance.
Equipped with a small sample holder, analysis can be completed with only 15 mg of sample
No external power supply, compressed gas, water cooling device, secondary chiller unit, or external transformer is required for operation, thus maintaining a low cost of ownership
Through wireless connectivity, the analyzer can be connected to your device
The SwiftMin software used by the analyzer is simple and intuitive, with the following features: a single screen control panel displaying multiple data, pre-set calibration programs, easy data export, and automatic data transmission, thereby simplifying the user's workflow

The improvement of speed and sensitivity helps users make quick decisions
The TERRA II analyzer combines powerful, concise, and intuitive software with an improved X-ray detector, which not only enhances sensitivity and speeds up the analysis process, but also provides more reliable results.
The updated X-ray detector hardware runs faster and has higher analysis density, resulting in lower detection limits (LOD).
SwiftMin automatic mineral phase identification (ID) and quantification software can provide real-time data directly on the XRD analyzer, so users can make decisions quickly, timely, and confidently

Only a few simple steps are needed to run the detection once:

1. Prepare the sample.
Firstly, grind the sample into powder form. Sample preparation is very easy, just use tools to crush the tested material. The tool accessories for preparing samples are included with the analyzer, making sample collection and preparation a breeze.

2. Filter the sample.
Pass the sample through a sieve or use a portable grinder to obtain finer powdered samples. The Yijingtong (formerly Olympus) XRD analyzer only needs to grind the sample into a powder of 150 microns.

3. Vibration samples.
Use a small shovel to place the sample onto the vibrating sample holder. This sample holder can ensure that the samples are not affected by preferential orientation effects.

4. Start testing.
Press the start acquisition button on the analyzer to start the detection. During the analysis of the sample, the XRD analyzer can be connected to a laptop, tablet, smartphone, or other device with wireless connectivity to observe X-ray diffraction patterns in real-time.
Settings can also be adjusted to automatically transmit data after a pre-set period of time, or to transmit data when the stop button is pressed.

5. View the results.
Now you can use diffraction patterns to create reports. Before producing the report, the results can also be edited.

Easily complete the preparation of samples
Traditional XRD instruments require grinding large quantities of samples into powder and then rolling them into small spherical shapes to ensure sufficient random orientation of the grains.
In contrast, the TERRA II analyzer can use a small vibrating sample holder to induce convection of all particles in the sample chamber, ensuring that the data is almost unaffected by directional effects. Therefore, the instrument only requires 15 milligrams of sample to obtain high-quality detection results, and operators can easily prepare samples using the sample toolkit provided with the instrument.
