Nitrate reagent
K-6973 nitrate reagent is used to test the content of nitrate in water. For example: freshwater, seawater, and industrial water.
This kit requires the use of a CHEMetrics direct reading spectrophotometer (multi parameter water quality analyzer: V-2000/V-3000) or a 13mm circular colorimetric dish spectrophotometer.

Use zinc as a reducing agent to reduce nitrate to nitrite. Then, the nitrite concentration was determined by colorimetric method. This method is applicable to industrial wastewater, drinking water, and surface water. These nitrate testing kits in water can also be used for seawater analysis. This method will measure nitrate in the presence of low levels of nitrite (through differentiation). The results are expressed in ppm (mg/L) NO ∝⁻ - N.
