Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Worm Gear ReducerSHVW100L-8:

MHI HASEG CO., LTD. is a member of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, and Shanghai Lingyouhui Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced power transmission equipment from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' power transmission department to China. On April 1, 2015, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' power transmission department was reorganized into Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Hasegawa Co., Ltd. MHI HASEG CO., LTD., which focuses on the design, development, and production of large gearboxes. The reducer produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Hasegawa MHI HASEG has the characteristics of adjustable backlash, five stage variable speed, stable rotation, low noise and low vibration. Widely used in precision machinery, steel rolling machinery, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, aerospace steel, rubber, printing, textile machinery and other industries.

The maintenance methods for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries reducers are mainly as follows:
  1. Lubricating oil inspection and replacement

    • Oil level checkRegularly shut down and check the oil level of the gearbox to ensure that the oil level is within the range specified by the oil gauge. If the oil level is too low, the same type of lubricating oil should be replenished in a timely manner.

    • Oil quality inspectionEvery 3-6 months, take out oil samples for inspection, observe the color, odor, viscosity, etc. of the oil. If the oil quality turns black, there is an odor, or there is a significant change in viscosity, it indicates that the lubricating oil has deteriorated and needs to be replaced in a timely manner.

    • First oil changeAfter running for 200-300 hours, the new gearbox should undergo the first oil change to remove impurities such as metal debris generated during the running in process.

    • Conventional oil changeAfterwards, according to the frequency of use and working environment of the reducer, the lubricating oil is generally replaced every 6-12 months or 5000-10000 hours of operation. Gearboxes working in harsh environments, such as high temperature and high dust environments, should have their oil change cycle appropriately shortened.

  2. Clean the gearbox

    • External cleaningRegularly wipe the outer shell of the reducer with a clean cloth to remove dust, oil stains, and debris from the surface and maintain good heat dissipation. For stubborn stains, a mild cleaning agent can be used for wiping, but it is important to avoid the cleaning agent from entering the interior of the gearbox.

    • Internal cleaningWhen replacing the lubricating oil, a specialized cleaning solvent can be used to clean the inside of the gearbox, removing oil sludge, impurities, etc. After cleaning, be sure to drain the solvent completely and ensure that the interior is dry before adding new lubricating oil.

  3. Check the gears and worm gears

    • Visual inspectionRegularly open the inspection cover of the reducer and observe whether there is wear, cracks, tooth surface peeling, and other phenomena on the surface of the gears, worm gears, and worm gears. If slight wear is found, continue to observe and increase the frequency of inspection; If there is severe wear or cracking, tooth surface peeling, etc., the damaged parts should be replaced in a timely manner.

    • Tooth clearance inspectionUse professional measuring tools such as feeler gauges or dial gauges to regularly check the backlash of gears and worm gears. The backlash should be within the specified range. If the backlash is too large, it will affect the transmission accuracy and efficiency, and adjustments or component replacements are required.

  4. Check the sealing componentsCheck all sealing parts of the gearbox, such as shaft seals, end caps, etc., for oil leakage. If oil stains are found on the seal, it indicates that the seal may be damaged and should be replaced in a timely manner to prevent lubricant leakage and ensure the normal operation of the gearbox.

  5. Tightening connectorsRegularly check the fastening of the foundation bolts, connecting flanges, couplings, and other connecting parts of the reducer. If there is any looseness, it should be tightened in a timely manner. During the operation of the equipment, vibration may cause loose connections. If not dealt with in a timely manner, it can affect the stability of the gearbox and even lead to safety accidents.

  6. Check the operating temperature and noiseDuring the operation of the gearbox, pay close attention to its operating temperature and noise. Under normal circumstances, the operating temperature of the gearbox should not exceed the specified upper limit, usually 80-90 ℃. If the temperature is found to be too high, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection to find the cause, such as oil shortage, excessive load, poor heat dissipation, etc. At the same time, pay attention to whether the noise during the operation of the reducer is normal. If there is abnormal noise, such as piercing sound, impact sound, etc., it may indicate that there is a malfunction in the internal components and timely maintenance is needed.
