The establishment of the quality of javelin throwers relies on the combination of various technical means, which help athletes achieve high-level athletic results in competitions. The javelin throwing technique includes four parts: grasping the javelin, running (pre running, throwing step), exerting force, and maintaining balance.
Hold the gun. At present, javelin throwers use two main grip methods. In one method, the thumb and middle finger lean against the edge of the rope handle, while in the second method, the thumb and index finger lean against the edge of the rope. In competitions, most athletes use a different grip method because the middle finger is longer and more powerful than the index finger. At this moment, the javelin was in the palm socket, leaning diagonally against the base of the thumb and index finger. The second to last step of the throwing step is the cross step, which is the connecting link between starting acceleration and acceleration. The athlete completes this step by actively landing the left leg on the ground and swinging the right leg with force. The active movement of both legs causes the hip axis to move forward relative to the shoulder axis. The purpose of the athlete's technical movement in this step is to create a overtaking device, causing the muscles involved in throwing to elongate in advance and creating mechanical conditions for exertion.
Apply force. In javelin throwing, 70.80% of the speed of the instrument's release relies on force, which is achieved in one throwing step. The athlete's left leg landing quickly and supporting in pairs is an important condition for effectively exerting force. In the cross step, actively push forward with the left leg and vigorously swing the right leg to tighten the body up and down, so that the left leg can quickly detach from the support and extend forward, which helps the left foot land quickly with one step.
