LYQ-1000 pencil hardness tester

1、 Purpose:
Coating hardness is a necessary indicator for quality certification in the coating manufacturing and coating application (coating) industry. The pencil scratch method for testing coating hardness has been widely adopted internationally since the 1980s. China has also promoted this testing method in the development research and industrial production of coatings. The LYQ-1000 pencil scratch tester (pencil hardness tester) is designed and manufactured according to the manual operation method in Articles 2 and 3 of the national standard "Coating Hardness Pencil Determination Method" GB6379-86. The instrument can be used in the laboratory or on construction sites, and can identify the hardness of the coating in any direction.
2、 Structure and working principle
The instrument is mechanical, with three-point contact on the tested surface (two points as wheels and one point as lead core), always ensuring that the pencil forms a 45 ° angle with the tested surface. By pushing the instrument horizontally with force, the testing process can be completed and the ability of the coating to resist deformation can be determined.
3、 Usage requirements
1. GB1279-79 "General Preparation Method for Paint Films" prepares three test pieces, which are generally smooth tinplate plates of 120 * 50 * (0.2-0.3) mm,

5、 Usage:
1. Place the LYQ-1000 pencil scratch tester flat on the test piece (if the test piece is smaller than the instrument, please place the test piece in front of the instrument and place the gasket below the front end of the instrument to keep the instrument level).
2. Use a blade to sharpen the pencil, making the protruding part of the pen center about 2-5mm, and grind it flat with sandpaper. Then insert the pencil into the instrument, make the pen center contact the test piece, and fix and lock it. (Suggestion: The pencil is hexagonal, choose a flat surface when fixing, rotate two flat surfaces to fix the test after testing, and rotate two flat surfaces to fix the test. One circular surface can be used three times.) During the test, the gasket should be removed.
3. Grasp the center of two wheels with your thumb and middle finger. Push the instrument forward by about 1-2cm from the back to move it away (do not apply any pressure when pushing the instrument).
Determine the hardness and check for scratches on the test piece. Suggest making at least three locations on the test piece and taking the average value. Hardness levels, standard pencils from soft to hard 6B 5B 4B 3B 2B HB H 2H 3H 4H 5H 6H (13 in total).
