A nitrogen generator is based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption, using carbon molecular sieves as adsorbents to produce nitrogen from air at rated pressure. After purification and drying under compression pressure, pressure adsorption and depressurization desorption are carried out in adsorption. Due to aerodynamic effects, the diffusion rate of oxygen in the micropores of carbon molecular sieves is much higher than that of nitrogen. Oxygen is preferentially adsorbed by carbon molecular sieves, while nitrogen is enriched in the gas phase, forming finished nitrogen gas. Afterwards, after decompression to atmospheric pressure, the adsorbent desorbs impurities such as oxygen adsorbed, achieving regeneration. Generally, two adsorption towers are set up in the system, one tower adsorbs and produces nitrogen, and the other tower desorbs and regenerates. The opening and closing of the pneumatic valve is controlled by a PLC program controller to alternate between the two towers, in order to achieve continuous production of high-quality nitrogen gas.
