LB124 Surface Pollution Detector

Surface contamination detector is a portable or fixed nuclear radiation monitoring device used for rapid detection of surface radioactive contamination (including alpha, beta, gamma or neutron rays) of objects. Its core function is to quantitatively or qualitatively analyze whether there is radioactive nuclide attachment on the surface. It is widely used in nuclear facilities, laboratories, medical, environmental protection, customs and other scenarios, and is a key equipment to ensure personnel safety and environmental compliance.

Surface pollution detectors can be divided into two categories: "portable" and "fixed".

1. Portable surface pollution detector

• Core FeaturesSmall size (usually 0.5-3kg in weight), long battery life (4-8 hours of battery power), easy operation, supports handheld scanning or fixed-point measurement, some with data storage and wireless transmission functions.

• Applicable scenarios：

• Surface contamination detection of personnel (such as hands, clothing, and shoe soles of nuclear facility workers);

• Surface contamination inspection of equipment/tools (such as laboratory instruments, nuclear waste transfer boxes, medical radioactive equipment);

• Environmental emergency monitoring (such as rapid screening of ground, wall, and vegetation surface pollution after a nuclear leak accident);

• Customs/security check (to investigate illegal carrying of radioactive substances, such as ores and scrap metals).

2. Fixed surface pollution detector

• Core FeaturesFixed installation in specific locations (such as nuclear facility entrances and exits, passages, waste disposal areas), automatic continuous monitoring, support real-time alarm (sound and light/SMS), usually networked with the central control system.

• Applicable scenarios：

• Key passages of nuclear facilities (such as personnel entrances and exits, automatic detection of shoe soles and clothing surface contamination to prevent contamination from spreading);

• Continuous monitoring of production lines (such as nuclear material processing, radioactive drug production, real-time monitoring of product/equipment surface contamination);

• Designated duty in high-risk areas (such as nuclear waste storage areas, 24-hour monitoring of surface contamination for leaks).
