Non cutting type
When there is no need to cut crops, the OPTIFEED picking and feeding system ensures proper control, uniform and consistent delivery of crops to the bundling room.
OPTIFED rotor
The OPTIFED rotor design includes feeding teeth and an integral agitator, which helps spread the grass evenly by spreading the crops, thus generating consistent bales every time.

Cutting system
The Kuhn OC cutting system uses wear-resistant rotor teeth and is widely recognized by users as one of the best cutting systems on the market. Silage feed is forcibly fed to improve flow and cutting performance, as well as prevent unnecessary blockages.

OPTICUT 14
The integral rotor of the OPTICUT system, equipped with 14 knives, has been carefully designed to forcibly feed crops into the baler. The theoretical cutting length of 14 knives is 70 millimeters, and each knife is protected by a spring to prevent damage from foreign objects. By using the group selection function, you can choose to use 0, 4, 7, 7, or 14 knives.
OPTICUT 23
The OPTICUT system equipped with 23 knives has the dual advantages of high cutting strength and providing mechanical protection. The theoretical cutting length of this cutting system is 45 millimeters, and each tool is protected by an independent spring device. By using the group selection function, you can choose to use 0, 7, 11, 12, or 23 knives.
The VB 3165-3195 and BalePack models also have mechanical grouping options, making it easy to change tools and improve driver comfort.

DROPELOOR
When the rotor is blocked, the bottom plate and cutting tools can be comfortably lowered through hydraulic means in the tractor cab. After clearing the blockage, they can be easily returned to their working position.
Rotor detachment
When lowering the bottom plate is still insufficient to clear the blockage, the rotor drive and bundling chamber drive can be manually separated, so that the bundling and discharge of grass bales can be completed from the bundling chamber.
The rotor disengagement and DROPFLOOR technology ensure quick clearance of blockages and enable you to quickly engage in bundling operations.

Gradual compaction - Kuhn solution
The gradual compaction system has proven its value on all Kuhn VB balers. The system increases tension as the bales grow larger, forming dense bales with a sturdy outer layer.
Working principle
As the bales grow larger in the bale chamber, the belt tensioner arm is subjected to steadily increasing resistance from two hydraulic cylinders and a spring tensioner. When the diameter of the bundle increases, its density also increases. This can form a very dense bundle of grass, with a moderately hard core that is neither too soft nor too hard. Through a stronger outer layer, straw bales are better able to withstand harsh weather conditions, while silage bales will maintain their own shape, improving stacking and ease of handling.

Quickly form a perfect bundle of grass
No matter what feeding system is used, the VB 3100 series baling chamber's 5-belt and 3-roller design ensures the rapid formation of consistent bales. The perfect contour of the top pressure roller in the bundling chamber can improve crop contact and reduce crop loss. The front section of the bundling room is equipped with large smooth rollers and driven cleaning rollers to prevent crops from accumulating in the front of the machine.
