The OEG safety brake is a spring pressure brake type. To supply power to the coil, the induction magnetic circuit attracts the spring system.
According to the application, the power circuit is turned on, and the spring releases the moving anchor, resulting in high-precision braking.
The choice of brake mainly depends on the moment of inertia to be braked, the number of interventions per hour, the working intensity, and the necessary idle time.
The brake type should be selected first based on the application type.
Due to the pressure spring, the OEG brake can operate in the event of a power outage. When the magnet housing (1) is energized, the moving anchor (2) is attracted and overcomes the spring force (7), allowing the shaft (13) with the brake disc (3) installed to freely rotate and slide axially on the gear hub (4). Turn off the power, and the spring (7) pushes the movable anchor (2) to slide on the guide rail (9), thereby pressing the brake disc (3) onto the motor flange (26). Therefore, the shaft (13) is braked. The structure with multiple springs and power-off braking devices ensures the intrinsic safety of the equipment.

Improper selection, installation errors, and lack of regular maintenance of brakes may lead to brake failure, causing damage to objects, personnel, and/or animals. Whenever a brake failure may cause damage to objects, personnel, and/or animals, additional protective measures should be activated in addition to the existing ones. If the consequences of such operations cannot be predicted, do not manually release the brake.
