In the fire safety system, smoke alarms are the 'sentinels' guarding safety. Common smoke alarms mainly include ion type and photoelectric type. Among them, ion type smoke detectors are more sensitive to the small smoke particles generated in the early stages of a fire, such as detecting small flames that have just started smoking or light smoke produced by a slight short circuit in the circuit. Therefore, for places such as residential kitchens and bedrooms that are prone to early light smoke, high-sensitivity ion type smoke detectors can issue warnings earlier. However, regardless of the type of alarm, to ensure that it meets safety standards and maintains high sensitivity, it must undergo professional testing. For ion type smoke alarms, it is necessary to accurately detect their response threshold to smoke concentration. Only through strict testing can the alarm accurately and timely sound when the smoke reaches a dangerous concentration, otherwise it may lead to measurement errors.

Force TechnologyofMIC EC-912It is the core component of this type of detection equipment. It is based on the principle of ionization chamber measurement and can accurately measure smoke density, specifically used for testing smoke alarms. The ionization chamber was originally designed by Swiss company Cerberus AG and has since been incorporated into European standards such as EN14604, EN54-7, and ISO 7240-7.
MIC instruments can be used independently or in combination with different types of optical smoke measurement devices.
application
MICReference measurement for smoke density:
●Conduct smoke tunnel testing according to EN54-7 standard (repeatability test, orientation test, consistency test, power parameter fluctuation test, airflow test, environmental adaptability test, etc.)
●Conduct fire sensitivity testing according to EN54-7/9 standard
●Tested in UL smoke boxes according to UL 217 and UL 268 standards
●Other application scenarios that require precise smoke measurement
System Composition
The EC-912 MIC smoke measurement system consists of the following parts:
● MICSmoke measuring head
● Multi core cable, 10 meters (other lengths can be provided upon request)
MIC control unit with power supply
● Flow control unit with filter
● Vacuum pump
● Air duct
Accessories, operation manuals, etc
The smoke measuring head is installed at the measuring position and connected to the control unit through a multi-core cable. The control unit, flow control unit, and power supply are integrated into one cabinet and can be placed in one operating room. The vacuum pump can be placed in a suitable position.
operation
Zero and full range can be manually adjusted through the control unit. Before each smoke gradient test, it is necessary to adjust it in clean air
power supply
Main power supply: 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, no switching required
cabinet
19 inch desktop/plug-in cabinet, including power supply, MIC controller, and flow control unit
measuring head
Static current of ionization chamber: 100 pA (nominal value)
Ionization chamber impedance: 1.9 × 1011 Ω± 5%
