working principle
When a pipeline leaks, it can generate much higher noise frequencies than ordinary underwater sound. The frequency of leakage noise mainly depends on the size of the leakage point; The propagation speed in pipelines mainly depends on the diameter of the pipeline and the pipe material. The noise propagates simultaneously along the pipeline to both ends and is measured by acceleration sensors placed at both ends of the pipeline (with the leakage point between the two sensors). By performing cross-correlation analysis on two columns of noise signals, the time difference between the arrival of noise at the two sensors can be determined. Then, based on the distance between the two sensors and the propagation speed of noise in the pipeline, the distance between the leakage point and the two sensors can be calculated and displayed through a handheld terminal.
