As long as the bottom * outer end has a slight R angle, the general specifications are D8R1, D6R1, etc. It is also mostly used for curved surface machining because the side edge and bottom are mostly end mills, which can be used for workpieces that are mostly flat but only have a small portion of curved surfaces.
Simply put, external R knives are mainly used for surface machining. If there are many surfaces, a ball knife is used for complex ones, and if there are few surfaces, a round nose knife is used for flat surfaces
