1spray scrubberbrief introduction
Spray scrubber is the simplest equipment used for gas absorption. In the spray scrubber, the liquid is in a dispersed phase and the gas is in a continuous phase. Generally, the gas-liquid ratio is small, making it suitable for absorption processes with extremely fast or rapid chemical reactions.
A spray washing tower consists of an empty tower and a set of nozzles for spraying liquid. Its structure is shown in Figure 5-7. In general, gas enters from the bottom of the tower and is evenly distributed through the gas distribution system before passing upward through the entire equipment. At the same time, the liquid is sprayed by one or more nozzles, and the gas and droplets come into contact in reverse flow. After purification, the gas is dehazed and discharged from the top of the tower.
The advantages of spray washing tower are simple structure, low cost, low gas pressure drop, and no blockage. Currently widely used in wet desulfurization systems. Its main feature is complete openness. There are no other internal facilities except for the spray nozzle. The nozzle is the main accessory of the spray washing tower, and it is required to provide small and uniformly sized droplets to ensure the effective operation of the spray washing tower.
2、 Working principle of sprinkler equipment
The dusty gas flows upward, and the liquid droplets are ejected from the nozzle and move downward. The larger dust particles are captured by the liquid droplets through mechanisms such as inertial collision, contact retention, and dust aggregation due to humidification. When the gas flow rate is low, droplets carrying particles sink to the bottom of the tower due to gravity. The purified gas is discharged from the top through a water purifier to remove small liquid droplets carried by it.
3、 Basic structure of sprinkler equipment
According to the shape of the cross-section inside the spray dust collector, it can be divided into two types: circular and square; According to the different directions of gas-liquid flow inside, it can be divided into three forms: counter current, co current, and cross current.
In the counter flow spray tower, the dusty gas enters from the bottom of the spray dust remover and moves up evenly through the airflow distribution grid; Droplets are sprayed from top to bottom by nozzles, which can be placed on one section or in several layers on several sections. Due to the inertial collision, interception, and coalescence between particles and droplets, larger particles are captured by the droplets. The purified gas passes through the anti fog and water blocking plate at the top of the tower to remove any carried water mist and is discharged.
In the downstream spray tower, the liquid and dusty air flow in the tower flow in the same direction, usually from the top, which is beneficial to the separation of liquid droplets from the air flow. The disadvantage is that the inertial collision effect is poor, which is mainly used to cool and humidify the gas.In the cross flow spray tower, the liquid is showered down from the top of the tower, while the dusty airflow passes through the spray tower horizontally. The lower part of the scrubber of spray tower is generally equipped with a collecting pipe trough and a sedimentation tank, so that the liquid can be recycled.
