Hengli ABB frequency converter maintenance hotline
Accelerated overcurrentWhen the ACS510 frequency converter starts, it frequently reports F0001. Upon detection, it was found that the acceleration time parameter (2202) was set to 2 seconds, which is too short. After adjusting it to 10 seconds, it runs smoothly12.
Motor short circuitSudden overcurrent occurred during the operation of ACS800 frequency converter. Investigation confirmed that the short circuit between turns of the motor winding caused a sudden change in current514.
Hardware damageIGBT module breakdown caused ACS550 frequency converter to explode. After replacing the module and repairing the drive circuit, the fault was eliminated15.
Check the mechanical status of the load (such as belt jamming, bearing wear) to reduce instantaneous impact14;
Extend acceleration/deceleration time (parameter group 2202-2205) to avoid sudden changes in current12;
Use a multimeter to check the CE resistance of the IGBT module (normal>100k Ω), and replace the abnormal module15.
Shutdown overvoltageWhen the ACS510 frequency converter stops, the OVERVOLTAGE alarm is triggered. The abnormal energy feedback is caused by the lack of a brake unit configuration. The issue was resolved by installing a brake resistor12.
phase lossACS800 standby reports DC UNDSERVOLT (3220). Upon investigation, it was found that the input power supply was missing phase. After repairing the contactor control circuit, it returned to normal414.
Capacitor agingThe decrease in the capacitance of the DC bus leads to an undervoltage alarm for LU. Replace the capacitor with the same specification (discharge to below 30V)512.
Check the balance of three-phase power supply (deviation ≤ 2%) and the fastening status of terminals414;
Enable energy consumption braking function (parameter group 27.01-27.06) or external braking unit12;
Check the closing status of the main circuit contactor and clean the contact oxide layer45.
Heat dissipation failureACS800 reported TEMP (4210), IGBT temperature exceeded 100%, stopped running due to dust accumulation in the cooling fan, cooled down by 15 ℃ after cleaning412.
Parameter incorrect settingImproper setting of the V/F curve resulted in overheating of the motor during low-frequency operation. After correcting the torque compensation parameters (parameter group 26.01), the fault was eliminated12.
Clean the dust on the heat sink (monthly maintenance), test the fan speed (normal ≥ 2000rpm)412;
Install forced cooling devices or reduce the ambient temperature to below 40 ℃411;
Calibrate the temperature sensor signal (parameter group 35.01-35.03) and troubleshoot any loose connections in the circuit1112.
Preliminary diagnosis:
Record fault codes and operating environment (temperature/load)1314;
Observe for any unusual odors, noises, or burning marks512.
Hardware Detection:
Disassemble and inspect the rectifier bridge, IGBT module, and drive circuit (with a focus on checking the A3120 optocoupler)57;
Verify the integrity of the driving pulse waveform using an oscilloscope512.
parameter reset:
Reset the motor parameters after restoring the factory settings (parameter group 99.02)1213.
load testing:
Run without load for 30 minutes, gradually load to rated power to verify stability1214.
environmental adaptationOperating temperature -10 ℃~40 ℃, humidity ≤ 90%, avoid dust accumulation (heat dissipation efficiency decreases by 40%)412;
Spare parts requirementsIGBT module needs to match the prototype number (such as 7MBR25NF-120)712;
