MICROTOPSII is a 5-channel handheld solar photometer used for precise measurement of aerosol optical thickness. It can measure and store 5 non continuous wavelengths of direct solar radiation. MICROTOPS has the same precision as other large and expensive instruments. The optional GPS receiver provides convenience for field measurements. Users can choose 5 out of 8 WMO wavelength filters or specify up to 5 custom wavelengths.

The MICROTOPS II solar photometer can measure atmospheric sol optical thickness and direct solar radiation at all selected wavelengths. The wavelengths of 936+870+120nm and 936+870936+1020 can be used to measure the water vapor column.

Main features:

  1. High precision: Internally implanted with the highest standard optical filters to ensure precise and stable optical collimation. Low noise electronic devices and a 20 bit A/D converter ensure high linearity, high resolution, and high dynamic range.
  2. Easy to use: No computer knowledge is required for measurement. Just aim the instrument at the sun, align the crosshairs with the sun image, and press the button. The measurement can be completed in a few seconds and the results will be stored in the memory.
  3. Portability: Measurements can be completed with just a small handheld device, without the need for a computer.
  4. Instantaneous results: The ozone and water vapor calculation algorithms are integrated into MICROTOPS II, and the final stored results can be easily displayed on an LCD monitor.
  5. Non volatile memory: The original data is collected by MICROTOPS II and the calculation results are stored in the memory. Each data point is labeled with time, date, solar angle, altitude, location coordinates, atmospheric pressure, and temperature.
  6. Low cost: Due to the use of the latest technology, it has a price advantage compared to other products, but its accuracy and other features are outstanding.
  7. Computer interface: Connect to a PC through a serial interface (RS232) to transmit the collected data. MICROTOPS Organizer is a Windows based software used for automatic data retrieval and archiving.
