1 Glass Density Bottles GB/T 4472-2011 Glass Instrumentsscope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions for determining the density and relative density of chemical products, as well as the methods for determining the density and relative density of solid, liquid, and gaseous chemical products.

This standard is applicable to the determination of density and relative density of general chemical products.

This standard is not applicable to the determination of density and relative density of chemical products in special conditions such as carbon black, open cell foam rubber or plastic.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Glass Density Bottles GB/T 4472-2011 Glass InstrumentsDensity (mass density)

Mass divided by volume. p=m/V。 Its unit is kilogram per cubic meter (kg/m) or its multiple unit: megagram per cubic meter

(Mg/m³)、 Expressed in kilograms per cubic decimeter (kg/dm) and grams per cubic centimeter (g/cm). It can also be expressed in the following units: tons per cubic meter (t/m ³), kilograms per liter (kg/L), grams per liter (g/L), milligrams per liter (mg/L), micrograms per liter (μ g/L), and nanograms per liter (ng/L).

3.2

Relative density

d

The ratio of the density of a substance to the density of another reference substance under given conditions. D=p/p [usually p=p (H2O, 4 ℃)], with the SI unit being 1.

3.2.1

Relative density of solid

The ratio of the density of a substance to the density of water at 4 ℃ at an ambient temperature of 20 ℃. Expressed as relative density d (water=1).

3.2.2

Relative density of liquid

The ratio of the density of a substance to the density of water at 4 ℃ in an ambient temperature of 20 ℃. Expressed as relative density d (water=1).
