thisGA-8 Ultrasonic Supersonic Instrument^®Sonic sieveWith seven times the capacity, GA-6 automatic sieve provides sharp, repeatable separation of granular materials and fine powder from size 4 (4.75 mm) to 5 meters. GA-8 accepts a full height test sieve of up to 78 inches (203mm) and ASTM E11 woven metal wire cloth or ASTM E161 does not support precision electroformed grids. The unit also accepts the GA-10 ultrasonic adapter 200mm sieve tube required for ISO 565 and 33 10-1 sieve use

The screening effect is generated by 3600 sound speed pulses, which come from an audio energy generator every minute, oscillating the air column inside the sieve to stir each particle. The screening intensity (amplitude) is set by a proportional controller. A programmable ramp feature increases the amplitude to the maximum rate and maintains it, then decreases it to achieve separation. Horizontal and vertical punching machines help to close fines of similar size. The horizontal tap can be positioned on the selected sieve. Four vertical punching machines can be used as a one-to-one pair for most materials or two pairs for difficult samples.

The memory stores up to ten programs with specific amplitude, ramp, tap, and test duration settings for specific materials. The testing time varies depending on the material type and particle size. The typical screening time is 1 to 5 minutes, but the operating time can be set to 99.9 minutes.

The powder coated steel shell has a vertically hinged LeXANM door that seals the screening chamber. Closed operations reduce dust and help limit and control inhalable particulate matter in the air within the breathing zone of personnel. The sample material consists of flexible top and bottom membranes. When the upper casing containing the audio generator is lowered into place, the stack is sealed. When the test is completed, recover the fine particles from the bottom diaphragm.

The sieve is ordered separately from ASTM E11 sieve size 4 to 635 (4.75 mm to 20 meters) or ASTM E161 sieve precision electroplated mesh size 150-5 μ m, with a tolerance of ± 2 μ m. Diameter 200mm and 300mm ISO 565 and 33 10-1 screens can also be ordered and must be paired with GA-10 ultrasonic adapter 200mm screen tube
