The fully automatic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader, also known as the microplate detector, is a specialized instrument for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analyzers are divided into two categories: semi-automatic and fully automatic. Their working principles are basically the same, and the core is a colorimeter, which uses colorimetric methods for analysis. Used in conjunction with adapted reagents for qualitative and quantitative analysis of analytes in biological samples.
The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay analyzer is essentially a disguised photoelectric colorimeter or spectrophotometer, and its basic working principle, main structure, and photoelectric colorimeter are basically the same. The light waves emitted by the light source lamp are converted into a beam of monochromatic light through a filter or monochromator, and enter the specimen to be tested in a plastic microplate. Part of the monochromatic light is absorbed by the specimen, while the other part is transmitted through the specimen and irradiated onto the photodetector. The photodetector converts these light signals into corresponding electrical signals, which are processed by signal processing such as preamplifier, logarithmic amplifier, and analog-to-digital conversion before being sent to the microprocessor for data processing and calculation. Finally, the results are displayed on the monitor and printer. The microprocessor also controls the movement of the mechanical drive mechanism in the X and Y directions through the control circuit to move the microplate, thereby achieving automatic sample injection detection process. Some enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analyzers use manually moving microplates for detection, eliminating the need for mechanical drive mechanisms and control circuits in the X and Y directions, making the instrument more compact and structurally simpler.
Precautions for operation:
The function of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader is to read the reaction results of an ELISA kit. Therefore, in order to obtain accurate results, the use of the kit must be standardized. Many hospitals judge the results visually before using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader, and the operation process is highly arbitrary. If the operating habits are not corrected in a timely manner after using the ELISA reader, it can cause significant errors. The following precautions should be taken during the operation of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader:
1. Use a liquid dispenser to add liquid, and do not mix the liquid heads.
2. Wash the board thoroughly. If conditions permit, use a board washing machine to wash the board and avoid cross contamination.
3. Strictly follow the instructions of the reagent kit for accurate reaction time.
4. During the measurement process, do not touch the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) plate to prevent the operator's hands from being crushed during the transfer of the ELISA plate.
5. Do not spill samples or reagents on the surface or inside of the instrument. Please wash your hands after completing the operation.
6. If the samples or reagents used have pollution, toxicity, and biological hazards, please strictly follow the operating instructions of the reagent kit to prevent damage to the operators.
7. If the instrument has come into contact with contaminated or infectious substances, please clean and disinfect it.
8. Do not turn off the power during the measurement process.
9. For measurement results deviation caused by reagent kit issues, parameters should be modified in a timely manner according to the actual situation to achieve the best results.
10. Cover the dust cover with a back cover.
11. In case of technical failure, contact the manufacturer in a timely manner and do not disassemble without authorization.
