Fermentation equipment is a widely used reaction device for microbial growth. Various microorganisms grow, metabolize, and form fermentation products in an appropriate environment in a fermentation tank. Fermentation equipment is currently widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, monosodium glutamate, enzyme preparations, and food.

Fermentation equipment tank types can be divided into two categories: one is the cone type for anaerobic fermentation (such as alcohol fermentation), and the other is the tank type for anaerobic fermentation (such as standard, five type, self-priming, etc.). This type of equipment is commonly used in standard tank shapes.

The drawings and data of the fermentation tank series designed by our factory belong to the standard tank type. When designing fermentation equipment of various specifications, the design structure should be tight, with sufficient strength and service life. The internal accessories of the equipment should be minimal, and the surface should be smooth. Attention should be paid to good gas jujube steam contact and gas jujube solid mixing performance, so that material transfer and gas exchange can be effectively carried out. There is sufficient heat exchange area to ensure fermentation can be carried out at an appropriate temperature. Pay attention to the sealing performance of equipment to ensure sterilization operations.

The fermentation tank designed by our factory is a standard tank type, which adopts a jacket type when the nominal volume is below 6M3. The cooling or heating of fermentation gas is accomplished by a jacket. When the nominal volume is 6M3 or more, the cooling of the fermentation gas is carried out by a vertical exhaust pipe. We have made improvements in the connection of the exhaust pipe inside the tank.

This mainly avoids opening too many holes on the tank body, creating blind spots. This continuous method has achieved satisfactory results in practical use.

The baffles installed inside the tank are used to improve mixing efficiency. The absence of baffles in the tank directly affects the condition of fermentation steam flipping. Therefore, it is very important to install baffles inside the tank. According to relevant data on the increase or decrease in the number of baffles and changes in leaf width dimensions, using 4 or 6 baffles with a width of 1/12-1/10 is ideal for improving mixing efficiency.

The agitator is the main device in fermentation equipment, which mixes fresh culture medium components, air, and mycelium thoroughly by stirring the steam to achieve mass and heat transfer effects. At present, there are three basic forms of agitators: flat blades (straight blades), curved blades, and arrow blades. The equipment provided by our factory uses curved blades. This curved blade worm gear mixer has a shearing effect on the fermentation steam, and the fermentation steam flows in both directions and axes. Compared with the straight blade worm gear mixer, the curved blade mixer consumes less power and has the same diameter, speed, and blade width, but the effect is very good. It is currently widely used in China.

In terms of motor configuration, we use Y-shaped motors (horizontal) and YJL type motors (vertical). Typically, vertical motors are used for nominal volumes below 15M3. Horizontal motors can also be used.

The connection of the tank surface is also very important for fermentation tanks. Based on our years of experience, we have designed a reasonable connection direction, which is very convenient for workers to operate. The connection size has been calculated and can be negotiated and changed if the user has specific requirements. For special specifications, our factory can design them separately.
