On February 1, 1953, Swiss engineer Mr. Georg H. Endress and German banker Mr. Ludwig Hauser founded L.Hauser KG in Lrrach, Germany - the predecessor of today's Endress+Hauser company.

The company started by selling a new type of capacitive level sensor made in the UK, which we can call the 'Garage Company' today, even though its original office was only converted from a bedroom.

This new type of sensor quickly achieved success, and the two founders of the company quickly began building their own production facilities, resulting in continuous growth in sales. At this time, the sales scope had expanded from the early focus on southern Germany to the entire country and surrounding countries. They began to operate level sensor products based on different principles besides capacitive ones. Later, products in other measurement fields also began to be developed, produced, and sold, such as pressure, flow rate, temperature, and so on. Sales and services began to spread throughout Western Europe, and overseas offices were established in the United States and Japan in the 1970s.

In the 1980s, the company began to address the challenges of "microelectronics technology" and achieved technological superiority. With the shift of process automation from "signal oriented" to "information oriented", E+H is actively involved in the development of different fieldbus protocols.

In 1995, Dr. h.c. Georg H. Endress, who was 71 years old, officially transferred the management of the company to his eldest son, Mr. Klaus Endress. Prior to this, Klaus Endress had already served as the company's CEO.

E+H, headquartered in Switzerland, has continuously developed over the past decade and has now become a professional manufacturer of sensors for process industry automation, providing automation solutions and various types of sensors for the entire process industry.
