Measures to ensure a longer service life of the oil separator

Accumulated dust, old oil products, air pollutants, or wear can all reduce the service life of oil separators. To ensure the optimal service life of the oil separator, the following measures must be taken.

Overall, the accumulation of solid particles in the fine separation layer can lead to an increase in pressure difference, thereby reducing the service life of the oil separator.

Dust entering the compressor oil can be restricted by promptly replacing the air filter and oil filter, as well as observing the oil change time.

Choosing the right oil is also very important. Only approved, anti-aging and water resistant oils shall be used. Atlas Copco's original air compressor oil has undergone complete testing and meets the strictest requirements for the entire oil separation process.

Using unsuitable oil that lacks sufficient antioxidant capacity, even for a short period of time, will cause the density of the oil to become jelly like and clog the oil separator due to the continuous accumulation of sediment.

The accelerated aging of oil is caused by high operating temperatures. Therefore, sufficient attention must be paid to providing sufficient cold air and promptly removing debris from the cooler.

When changing oil, all used oil must be drained to prevent residual oil and incompatibility between the two types of oil from causing damage.

In rare cases, oil may age prematurely due to some gases in the external environment.
