SPAD-502Plus is an instrument that can help users understand the nutritional status of crops by measuring the chlorophyll content in their leaves. The chlorophyll content is related to the growth conditions of crops, so it can be used to determine whether corresponding fertilizers need to be added. Only by improving the nutritional conditions can we grow more healthy crops and finally obtain high-quality Dafengshou (Salad of assorted fresh vegetables).
When measuring, simply insert the leaves and close the measuring probe, without cutting off the leaves. This allows for monitoring of specific leaves throughout the growth process of the crop, resulting in more scientific analysis results.

Multiple sets of measured data will be displayed in the graph, and those with significant differences can be easily identified and taken seriously for analysis.

The SPAD-502Plus has waterproof function (IPX-4), allowing for outdoor measurement work even on rainy days.
The SPAD-502Plus has a compact body and weighs only 200g, making it easy to fit into a pocket and take to the field for measurement.
The SPAD-502Plus uses LED lighting sources, which greatly reduces battery consumption. A set of 2 AA batteries can perform approximately 20000 measurements.
SPAD-502Plus evaluates the relative content of chlorophyll in the current leaf by measuring the absorption rate of the leaf in two wavelength ranges.
The following figure shows the spectral absorption of chlorophyll in two leaf samples. From the graph, it can be seen that chlorophyll reaches its peak absorption in the blue region (400-500nm) and red region (600-700nm), but does not absorb in the near-infrared region.
By utilizing the absorption properties of chlorophyll, SPAD-502Plus measures the absorption rate of leaves in the red and near-infrared regions. By analyzing the absorption rates of these two regions, a SPAD value can be calculated, which is a numerical representation of the current parameter corresponding to the chlorophyll content in the leaves.
