With numerous technologies, NexION 5000 takes the chemical high-resolution multi quadrupole ICP-MS mass spectrometry platform to a new level, achieving industry wide multi quadrupole ICP-MS. The four group quadrupole design combined with collision reaction cell technology provides ultra-low background equivalent concentration and excellent detection limit, achieving high accuracy and reproducibility of analysis results. Its performance is superior to existing high-resolution HR-ICP-MS, traditional triple quadrupole, and single quadrupole ICP-MS.
1、 Application features:
1. The NexION5000 Chemical High Resolution Multiple Quadrupole ICP-MS Mass Spectrometry Platform is composed of multiple quadrupole ICP-MS, which achieves high chemical resolution and interference elimination through the different mass resolution capabilities and working modes of each quadrupole, combined with collision reaction cell technology. The NexION5000 has the capability of single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, and multiple quadrupole, which can be easily and flexibly selected according to different application requirements for accurate quantitative, interference qualitative, and molecular ion reaction mechanism research.
2. The quadrupole ion deflector (Q0) is used for dynamic scanning and fixed ion screening modes. The first mass analyzer (Q1) can be used as a mass analyzer or ion guide, while the universal pool quadrupole (Q2) can flexibly select ion guide (STD), kinetic energy discrimination (KED), and dynamic mass bandwidth tuning (DRC) modes. The second mass analyzer (Q3) can be used as a mass analyzer or ion guide.

2、 Application principle:
1. NexION5000 Chemical High Resolution Multi Quadrupole ICP-MS is a laboratory instrument that requires ultra-low background equivalent concentration and excellent detection capability. Unparalleled substrate tolerance, from inorganic substrates to organic substrates, from acidic solutions to alkaline solutions, from isocratic elution to gradient elution, from ultrapure water (UPW) to high total dissolved solids (TDS).
2. Balanced self-excited high-frequency solid-state RF generator with ultra fast matching capability and strong robustness, LumiCoil? Technology enhances plasma stability and improves plasma coupling efficiency, making the entire inductively coupled plasma (ICP) highly adaptable to various substrates, such as naphtha, isopropanol (IPA), etc.
3. The All Matrix Sampling System (AMS) allows you to easily challenge various sample analyses. By using argon gas for gas dilution through AMS, up to 200 times sample dilution can be obtained, enabling analysis of up to 35% TDS samples without the need for manual dilution; By using organic oxygenation through AMS, carbon containing samples do not need to be digested, and the introduction of oxygen avoids carbon accumulation at the cone of high organic carbon containing samples, achieving direct analysis of organic samples, oil products, and solvents; By using Ar/CH4, N2 and other gases for plasma modification through AMS, the performance of ICP argon plasma ion source can be changed to achieve various special application analyses.
3、 Four groups of quadrupole rods:
A set of quadrupole ion deflectors (Q0) is an electrostatic mass analyzer based on ion energy, which dynamically focuses and screens ions by mass, and deflects ions by 90 degrees to achieve separation from neutral components and photons, which are then introduced into the next quadrupole stage
Two sets of Transmission Analyzer Quadrupole (Q1) are used as mass analyzers or to guide ions to a universal quadrupole cell. It contains a long pre quadrupole rod, which can achieve better high-energy ion focusing, resulting in unit mass or better mass resolution, with a resolution of<0.3 amu
The 3rd group is the Quadrupole Universal Cell Technology (Q2), which is a cell technology composed of quadrupole rods on the market. It has dynamic bandwidth quality tuning capability (which can effectively control the reaction) and comes standard with axial field technology (which can use any desired gas). It can serve as both an ion channel for ion focusing acceleration and a mass selector for specific ions, suppressing the generation of side reactions in the cell and ensuring the desired reaction, thereby eliminating interference.
The fourth group is the second quadrupole mass analyzer (Q3, Transmission Analyzer Quadrupole), used as a mass analyzer or to guide ions to the detector. Has a resolution of less than 0.3 amu per unit mass or better.
