Spheroidized alloy core wire, also known as spheroidized wire, is a core wire made of alloy material. It is mainly used for deoxidation and desulfurization in steelmaking. Compared with other deoxidation and desulfurization materials, spheroidized alloy core wire is developed for the development of alloy steel and variety steel, so its performance is strong and can improve various aspects of steel performance, such as plasticity, impact toughness, and fluidity of molten steel.
Spheroidized alloy cored wire is suitable for casting ductile iron and creep iron. The alloy cored wire used in spheroidization inoculation treatment can improve the performance of molten iron, enhance the plasticity, impact toughness, and flowability of steel through deoxidation and desulfurization. It also has the characteristics of directly entering the molten iron for melting and uniform distribution. With the development of the metallurgical industry, the significant increase in alloy steel, variety of steel, and the continuous improvement of external refining technology have led to the successful development of wire feeding technology.
The use of wire feeding technology for spheroidized alloy core wire has significant advantages over powder coating and direct addition of alloy blocks.
The spheroidized alloy core wire technology is a recently emerged external refining method used in modern steel feeding technology. Spheroidized alloy core wire is used for refining steel, purifying the molten steel, changing the morphology of inclusions, improving the castability and mechanical properties of molten steel, and increasing the yield of ferroalloys, reducing the cost of refining steel.
Casting specialized spheroidized alloy core wire is a composite material made by crushing various additives (deoxidizers, desulfurizers, modifiers, alloys, etc.) that are intended to be added to molten steel or iron into a certain particle size, and then using cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip to include it into a composite material with any length. It is mainly used in three aspects: incubation, refining spheroidization treatment outside the furnace, and special element alloying.
Spheroidized alloy core wire is used for refining and casting outside steelmaking furnaces, and is made by coiling alloy powder with strip steel strips. Its technical requirements are:
1. The strip steel needs to be annealed with a surface roughness of 6.3 μ m;
2. The powder particle size requirement is around 0.25mm;
3. The core wire requires composition, and the calcium content in silicon calcium core wire should be higher than 28%;
4. The powder weight error shall not exceed the prescribed limit;
5. The core wire buckle is dense, and there should be no powder leakage during the feeding process;
6. Indicate the weight of the core wire, the total length of the core wire, and the weight of the iron plate;
7. The powder should be dry with a moisture content of less than 0.5%.
