13C detection process description(Carbon-13 breath analyzer Helicobacter pylori detector):
a) The subjects should be fasted in the morning or for at least two hours.
b) The subject maintained normal exhalation by blowing gas into the airbag until it was full, and immediately tightening the airbag cover. This collected breath was taken for 0 minutes.
c) After taking one bottle of urea 13C granules with 80-100ml of cold drinking water, the subjects sit still.
d) The subjects collected their exhaled breath 30 minutes after taking urea 13C using the above method, and then tightened the airbag cover.
e) The collected exhaled gas bags at 0 and 30 minutes are sent to the infrared analysis component. The infrared detector converts the optical signal into an electrical signal, which is amplified and sent to the microcontroller and computer for data processing. The 13C/12C ratio and its changes in the gas at 0 and 30 minutes are calculated to obtain the change in 13C content.
f) Display the analysis results and print them.

Working Principle:
13C breath analyzer is a non dispersive infrared absorption spectrometer, in which many gases including carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and methane absorb energy in the infrared band. This selective absorption occurs at a special frequency, corresponding to the bond vibration frequency within the molecule. Measuring the absorption of characteristic frequencies enables gas detection, and measuring the intensity of absorption enables the measurement of gas concentration. The design of 13C breath analyzer is based on the above principles.
Both 13C and 12C have fixed absorption wavelengths in the infrared region. Helicobacter pylori, abbreviated as Hp bacteria, contains urease. When it encounters a 13C labeled urea reagent ingested in the stomach, it decomposes it into 13C and ammonia gas. 13C is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract, circulated through the bloodstream to the lungs, and exhaled with breath. We only need to collect the exhaled gas and measure the changes in 13C to accurately prove whether there is Hp infection.
