Butterfly ring packingessential information:

Material: usually stainless steel（304/316L）， Carbon steel, alloys, etc. can also be selected according to the working conditions.

Structure: Made by stamping, bending, and clamping multiple pleated metal sheets, forming symmetrical butterfly shaped lobes with square holes, triangular holes, and other openings on the blades, and reinforced snap spring structures inside.

Specifications: Common specifications include The diameter of the tower and processing capacity can be selected based on factors such as diameter 50, diameter 70, and diameter 80.

1. High mass transfer efficiency: The unique butterfly shaped structure greatly increases the specific surface area, resulting in more thorough droplet dispersion and faster surface renewal. The mass transfer efficiency is higher than traditional Bower rings and saddle rings.

2. Better flux and pressure drop: higher porosity, lower fluid resistance, improved processing capacity, significantly reduced pressure drop inside the tower, and significant energy-saving effect.

3. Good self distribution performance: When stacked, the inner rib structure has a conjugate shape, which can evenly distribute gas-liquid, avoid bias and wall flow, and ensure uniform mass transfer inside the tower.

4. Anti pollution and anti blockage: The perforated design and open structure reduce material deposition, making it less prone to blockage and easy to clean, suitable for working conditions that are prone to scaling and contain impurities.

Tower diameter matching: generally requires the outer diameter of the packing material ≤ 1/10~1/15 of the tower diameter, to avoid bias and wall flow.

efficiency Vs flux:

Small size（50): With a large specific surface area and high mass transfer efficiency, but slightly higher pressure drop, it is suitable for working conditions that require high separation accuracy and moderate processing capacity.

Large specifications（φ 70/80/90): higher porosity, higher flux, lower pressure drop, suitable for high processing capacity and pressure drop sensitive conditions (such as exhaust gas scrubbing, large distillation towers).

Material selection:

stainless steel 304: Universal corrosion resistance, suitable for neutral/weakly corrosive media.

stainless steel 316L: resistant to chloride ions and weak acid corrosion, suitable for seawater and chemical acid-base conditions.

Carbon steel: Low cost, only suitable for non corrosive and dry working conditions.
