Aowei Dietary Fiber Concentrator

On September 6, 2023, the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly released a new standard for dietary fiber, GB 5009.88-2023 National Food Safety Standard for Determination of Dietary Fiber in Foods. The original standard was mainly used for the detection of total dietary fiber, soluble dietary fiber, and insoluble dietary fiber in plant-based raw materials and processed foods. However, for beneficial monomers such as polyglucose, oligofructose, polyfructose, galactooligosaccharides, and yeast β - glucan that can be added to human health, they cannot be detected by enzymatic weight method. The new standard for dietary fiber fills the gap in the detection methods for various dietary fiber that can be added to health foods, dairy products, meat products, and infant formula foods.

In the new standard, soluble dietary fiber that can be dissolved in 78% ethanol is detected by liquid chromatography. After concentration, reconstitution, and desalination of the filtrate, it is tested on the machine and the result is non precipitable soluble dietary fiber (SDFS).
