Xenon lamp tubes can simulate the full spectrum of sunlight very well, but the spectrum emitted by xenon lamp tubes may be partially distorted in the ultraviolet part. In order to achieve a more natural and practical effect, xenon lamp tubes usually need to be matched with glass filters (such as daylight filters, window glass filters, or QB filters) to obtain the corresponding aging effect;

Xenon lamp tube X-1800 can achieve different aging effects when used at different control points (such as 340nm or 420nm).

1. Most polymer aging occurs in the ultraviolet range of sunlight, specifically within the 290-400nm wavelength range. Therefore, many testing methods choose the 340nm control point;

2. Some chemical products, such as dyes, pigments, etc., are sensitive to the short wavelength visible light spectrum, so choosing a control point of 420nm is more appropriate;

3. In addition, some standards require wide wave control, such as 300-400nm or 300-800nm control, which can be matched with different devices, and the xenon lamp tube can also be used normally

The air-cooled Q-SUN xenon arc lamp has the characteristics of economy, high efficiency, and low maintenance. The lifespan of the lamp tube is 3000 hours. Each Q-SUN B02 and Xe-1 uses a single 1800W lamp, while the Q-SUN Xe-3 uses three lamps.

The xenon arc tubes of the Q-SUN XE-1, Xe-2, and Xe-3 xenon lamp aging test chambers reproduce the full spectrum of sunlight, including ultraviolet, visible, and infrared.

Xenon lamps must undergo appropriate filtering to obtain suitable spectra for each specific application. Spectral differences may affect the speed and type of aging. The filter can simulate various service environments. The application or testing method determines which filter should be used.



The Q-SUN Xe-1 and Xe-3 xenon lamp aging test chambers are two different models, equipped with xenon arc lamps of the x-1800 and x-1800+models, respectively. Among them, the standard service life of the x-1800 lamp tube is 1500 hours, while the service life of the x-1800+lamp tube can reach 3000 hours.

To ensure the accuracy of the experiment, the lamp tube needs to be replaced every 1500 (or 3000) hours of use.

As the usage time of the lamp tube increases, the light output will gradually decrease. Therefore, after every 1500 (or 3000) hours of use, the lamp tube must be replaced to maintain stable performance.

Even if the lamp is still in normal working condition, if its light output is lower than the set value, it needs to be replaced after 1500 (or 3000) hours.

If the lamp tube is found to be aging within 1500 (or 3000) hours, resulting in the light intensity not meeting the specified range, the lamp tube should be replaced immediately.

4. Lamp aging can lead to increased energy consumption and affect the performance of xenon lamp aging test chambers. Therefore, regularly replacing aging lamps is a key step in maintaining equipment performance.

2、 Shutdown and preparation

Before replacing the lamp, press the STOP button to turn off the lamp power and ensure that the fan continues to run for about 15 minutes to cool down.

Before opening the box door, make sure that the power is cut off. For the Q-Sun Xe-3 test chamber, it is also necessary to place the external mobile power switch in the OFF position; The Q-Sun Xe-1 test chamber requires direct unplugging of the power plug.

After replacing the lamp, the irradiance of the equipment must be recalibrated to ensure the accuracy of the test results.

3、 Replacement steps

1. Use a screwdriver to open the box door, find and unscrew the screws that secure the light tube. These screws are also used to secure the upper part of the lower box.

2. Open the box door and remove the lamp tube that needs to be replaced. Grasp the silver plug at the end of the lamp tube and gently unplug it from the socket to disconnect the power supply. Then, use a screwdriver to rotate counterclockwise and loosen the screws that secure the lamp holder.

When disassembling the lamp tube, please gently grasp and pull the circular ring in the picture to avoid damaging the surrounding parts. Meanwhile, please avoid touching the glass part and carefully cut off the leads of the old lamp tube.

Before installing a new lamp tube, please ensure that the interior of the box is clean, including the reflector and filter.

After disassembling the old lamp tube, please clean the dust and impurities on the trigger electrode. Gently clean the trigger electrode with fine sandpaper, sandcloth, or wool felt to ensure that the part in contact with the lamp tube is clean and free of impurities. No need to remove the entire electrode section.

When installing a new lamp tube, do not touch the surface of the lamp tube directly with your hands to avoid grease contamination that may affect the performance of the lamp tube. Only touch the rubber pads at both ends of the lamp tube or wear clean gloves. If accidentally touching the lamp tube, please use an alcohol swab to wipe it.

7. After ensuring the correct installation of the lamp tube, check whether the trigger pole is in good contact with the lamp tube and do not apply excessive pressure to the lamp tube. If the trigger pole has poor contact with the lamp tube, gently adjust the metal part of the trigger pole to ensure good contact.
