Product Details

Usually, generating multiple signals requires investing in high-end signal generators. The AFG2021 arbitrary waveform/function generator has a bandwidth of 20 MHz, 14 bit resolution, and a sampling rate of 250 MS/s, allowing for the creation of both simple and complex waveforms. The most impressive feature is its entry-level price.

Most electronic devices, circuits, and systems are designed to process some form of signal. These signals can be simple, such as audio frequency signals or clock signals, or more complex, such as serial data streams or airbag sensor outputs during collisions. Due to its 20 MHz bandwidth, 14 bit resolution, and 250 MS/s sampling rate, the AFG2021 arbitrary function generator can create both simple and complex signals at an entry-level price. By using 12 standard waveforms, modulation functions, and built-in noise generators, you can quickly create the desired signal and comprehensively test your design.

Perfect frequency agility

Traditional function generators use analog oscillators and signal conditioning to create output signals. In contrast, the Tektronix AFG2021 relies on Direct Signal Synthesis (DDS) technology. DDS technology uses a single clock frequency to generate any frequency within the instrument range and synthesize waveforms. The DDS structure provides outstanding frequency agility and can be programmed for fast frequency and phase changes, making it particularly suitable for testing radio and satellite system components, amplifiers, and filters.

Connection ability

By using the USB host port on the front panel, you can save custom waveforms or instrument settings to a USB drive. You only need to plug the USB drive back into the USB host port to easily reload data. The USB device port and optional GPIB/LAN port provide multiple connection methods, allowing AFG2021 to be connected to a PC, download waveforms, and perform remote control.

Compact appearance

The 2U height and half rack width of the AFG2021 enable it to be stacked on top of other desktop instruments such as digital multimeters, power supplies, and frequency counters, saving valuable workspace. By selecting the RMU2U rack installation kit, GPIB interface, and comprehensive support for SCPI, AFG2021 provides the perfect solution for automated testing systems.
