Sound powerRefers to the sound energy radiated outward by a sound source within a unit time. The sound power represents the inherent properties of the sound source and is an absolute parameter that is independent of the testing distance, direction, and environment. In product noise measurement, sound power has become one of the most common requirements.
In the past, sound pressure level was often used for quantitative evaluation of product noise levels, which may vary due to changes in the sound source and measurement location.
Due to its characteristic of not being affected by external environment, sound power gradually replaces sound pressure level and more scientifically characterizes the acoustic characteristics of products.

Sound power measurementThe sound pressure method and sound intensity method can be used for measurement. The sound pressure method is divided into reverberation chamber method and anechoic chamber method according to different measurement environments. Different measurement methods are classified into precision methods, engineering methods, and simplified methods based on their accuracy levels.
There are multiple basic standards to choose from based on different testing environments, measuring instruments, measurement purposes, and measurement accuracy requirements. Each industry has developed industry standards based on their own equipment installation and operation requirements, using basic standards as a reference.
