Overview
ABB current sensors can measure various types of currents, from direct current to several tens of kilohertz alternating current. Their working principle is mainly based on the Hall effect. When the primary wire passes through the current sensor, the primary current IP will generate magnetic field lines, which are concentrated around the magnetic core. The Hall electrode built into the air gap of the magnetic core can generate a voltage of only a few millivolts proportional to the primary magnetic field lines. The electronic circuit can convert this small signal into a secondary current IS, and the following relationship exists.
Product Details

ABB current sensorProduct Features

1. The product's ability to resist magnetic field interference

2. High precision, fast response time, low power consumption

3. High reliability, suitable for harsh environmental applications

4. Customers can customize products according to their needs

Main characteristic parameters

1. Standard rated value IPN and rated output current ISN

IPN refers to the standard rated value that current sensors can test, expressed as the effective value (A.r.m.s), and the size of IPN depends on the model of the sensor product. ISN refers to the rated output current of a current sensor, generally ranging from 100 to 400MA, and may vary for some models.

2. Sensor supply voltage VA

VA refers to the supply voltage of the current sensor, which must be within the range specified by the sensor. Beyond this range, the sensor cannot function properly or its reliability decreases. In addition, the power supply voltage VA of the sensor is divided into positive power supply voltage VA+and negative power supply voltage VA -.

3. Measurement range Ipmax

The measurement range refers to the high current value that can be measured by the current sensor, and the measurement range is generally higher than the standard rated value IPN. The measurement range can be calculated using the following formula. Attention should be paid to sensors with single-phase power supply, whose power supply voltage VAmin is twice that of sensors with two-phase power supply, so their measurement range should be higher than that of sensors with two-phase power supply.

ABB current sensor products have a more compact structure and smaller size, and the entire series of products comply with environmental standards, safety standards, and strict quality standards. Meanwhile, all sensors have undergone rigorous testing, which is another reliable guarantee of ABB sensor quality.
