Overview

Collagenase is a protease, an endopeptidase, that can specifically recognize the Pro-X-Gly-Pro sequence (which appears frequently in collagen and is rarely found in other proteins) and cleave peptide bonds between neutral amino acids (X) (Gly) in the sequence

Product Details

This product is derived from Clostridium difficile(Clostridium histolyticum), It is a crude enzyme extract that not only contains collagenase (more accurately referred to as clostridiopeptidase A), but also can degrade natural collagen and reticular fibers. It also contains other proteases, polysaccharides, lipases, etc., which can effectively hydrolyze other proteins, polysaccharides, and lipids in the extracellular matrix of connective tissue and epithelial tissue, making this product very suitable for tissue digestion.

At present, commercially available bacterial collagenases are mainly divided into four types based on differences in collagenase activity: collagenaseTypes I, II, III, and IV have some bias in application:

1) Type I Collagenase: Contains relatively uniform enzyme activity (including collagenase, caseinase, clostridial protease, activity). Usually used for the preparation of epithelial cells, liver, lung, adipose and adrenal tissue cells;

2) Type II collagenase: contains higher activity of clostridial protease and is commonly used for the preparation of tissue derived cells such as heart, bone, muscle, thymus, and cartilage;

3) Type III collagenase: contains low protease activity and is commonly used for the preparation of breast cells;

4) Type IV Collagenase: Contains low activity and is commonly used for the preparation of pancreatic islet cells or cell preparation experiments that require maintaining receptor integrity.

This product isType I collagenase, ≥ 125 U/mg solid, can be used for the dissociation of tissues and cells such as epithelium, liver, lung, fat, and adrenal gland
