Electric motors are widely used in various fields of national economic construction and are important energy consuming equipment. Since the 1980s, with the rapid development of power electronics technology, microelectronics technology, and modern motor control theory, AC speed regulation technology has gradually matured, and its speed regulation performance has reached or even exceeded that of DC motors. It also has obvious advantages such as low cost, easy maintenance, and large capacity.

Recently, a conference on variable frequency electricity was held in Hunanmeasuring instrumentHunan Provincial Local Standard Approval Meeting for "Transmitter" and "Variable Frequency Electricity Measurement Instrument Analyzer". The two standards for frequency conversion measuring instruments introduced this time have a rigorous structure, clear hierarchy, scientific and reasonable technical indicators, and strong operability. At the same time, there is a blank in the field of frequency conversion measuring instruments, which is at a high level.

Faced with the increasing application of communication speed regulation technology, many variable frequency electricity measurement instruments have emerged on the market. However, they have only expanded their frequency bands and functions based on power frequency electricity measurement instruments, and can only measure variable frequency electricity. Most of the technical parameters announced by variable frequency electricity measurement instrument manufacturers can only be established under power frequency, and the measurement accuracy of conventional variable frequency electricity in a wide frequency range and full power factor range is either low, avoided or ambiguous. Due to the lack of understanding of variable frequency power testing instruments among most users, imported power analyzer manufacturers have been slacking off and taking the lead in using non-standard accuracy labeling methods with the intention of misleading consumers. Domestic power analyzer manufacturers have followed suit, resulting in extremely chaotic accuracy labeling methods for variable frequency power analyzers.

Since 2010, Hunan Galaxy Electric Co., Ltd. has collaborated with Hunan Institute of Metrology and Testing and National University of Defense Technology to carry out a series of work on the construction of a variable frequency electricity quantity traceability system. The local series standards for "Variable Frequency Electricity Measurement Instruments" submitted for review this time were proposed by the Hunan Provincial Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau and the National Variable Frequency Electricity Measurement Instrument Measurement Station. They were jointly drafted by Hunan Galaxy Electric Co., Ltd., Hunan Provincial Institute of Metrology and Testing, and National University of Defense Technology, including two standards: "Transmitters for Variable Frequency Electricity Measurement Instruments" and "Analyzer for Variable Frequency Electricity Measurement Instruments".

After review, the expert group unanimously agreed that the format of the "transmitters for measuring variable frequency electric quantity measuring instruments" and "analyzers for variable frequency electric quantity measuring instruments" series of standards complies with the requirements of GB/T1.1-2009; For power transmitters and analyzers in the field of variable frequency electricity measurement at home and abroad, range ratio, accurate limit frequency range, transmitter phase difference, etc. are used as the main evaluation indicators for variable frequency electricity transmitters, and accurate limit frequency range, low power factor power measurement accuracy, etc. are used as the main evaluation indicators for variable frequency electricity analyzers. The measurement range, accuracy level, and nominal method of transmitters and analyzers are scientifically defined, and the standard in the field of variable frequency measurement instruments is blank and at a level.

The formulation and implementation of the local series standards for variable frequency electric quantity measuring instruments in Hunan Province have laid the foundation for establishing a standard and specification system for variable frequency electric quantity measuring instruments, which is conducive to promoting the upgrading of the electric quantity measuring instrument industry, has significant significance for China's response to energy crisis, equipment manufacturing and other key areas and strategic emerging industries, and also helps to enhance China's discourse power in the field of energy conservation.
