The predecessor of the China Association of Medical Laboratory Supplies (CACLP EXPO) was the National Association of Medical Laboratory Supplies Production, Supply and Marketing, founded in March 1991 at the Haikou Post and Telecommunications Building in Hainan. The "Friendship Association" was initiated by Mr. Yuan Pujin from Wuhan Wuhai Company, Mr. Chen Zhuohua from Wuhan Clinical Testing Technology Service Department, Mr. Tian Weifa from Shanghai Changzheng Company, Mr. Li Yingzhe from Tianjin First Central Hospital Reagent Station, Mr. Xia Yetao from Shanghai Jingxiu Company, Mr. Song Haibo from Anhui Clinical Testing Center, Mr. Zhu Shaorong from Shanghai Rongsheng Company, Mr. Liu Jinghai from Zhuhai Yali Company, Mr. Zou Guoqi from Jiangxi Clinical Testing Center Reagent Station, and other comrades, with the aim of exchanging friendship and discussing the development plan of laboratory medical supplies; At that time, there were only twenty or thirty manufacturing enterprises engaged in in in vitro diagnostics (testing medical supplies) nationwide, and only a few dozen circulation enterprises.
Afterwards, the association was held every March in Zhuhai, Panyu, Chengdu, Hainan, Beihai, Hangzhou, Changsha, Taiyuan, Guangzhou, Yantai, Nanchang, Shanghai and other places. In 1992, Qian Xinzhong, the former Minister of Health, wrote an inscription for the association.
In March 2004, the association officially began commercial operation and was renamed as the Medical Laboratory and Blood Transfusion Instrument Reagent Expo (CACLP EXPO) (the 14th Annual Meeting of the Medical Laboratory Supplies Production, Supply and Marketing Association). CACLP has played a role as a milestone, bridge, and button for the development of in vitro diagnostics in China.
Today, CACLP has grown into an influential industry event with the support of a large number of in vitro diagnostic workers, and is also a highly cohesive and approachable event for showcasing and exchanging in vitro diagnostic business, technology, and products.
