Wenzhou is one of the largest Chinese pump and valve manufacturing centers, and the pump and valve industry is one of Wenzhou's five pillar industries. According to statistics, the pump and valve industry in Wenzhou has developed for many years and currently has over 3000 enterprises, including more than 500 large-scale enterprises with an annual output value of over 20 million yuan. Wenzhou pump and valve enterprises are mainly distributed in Yongjia County and Longwan District. Yongjia is regarded as the "hometown of Chinese pumps and valves" by the China General Machinery Industry Association, while Longwan is known as the "Chinese valve city". The status of Wenzhou pumps and valves in the country is evident.

According to the official display of the Wenzhou Industrial Policy Reward and Redemption System, participating in international exhibitions supported by Wenzhou City can enjoy multiple "policy red envelopes" to effectively help enterprises explore domestic and international markets.
According to the documents, for Wenzhou enterprises to participate in key international exhibitions supported by the municipal government, 70% of the booth fee will be subsidized, including 80% of the subsidy for participating in exhibitions in the "the Belt and Road" countries. The maximum subsidy for each overseas booth will not exceed 25000 yuan, and the maximum subsidy for each domestic booth will not exceed 8000 yuan. Each exhibiting company at the same exhibition will receive a maximum subsidy of 6 standard booths. For enterprises that participate in general international exhibitions in the "the Belt and Road" countries on their own, a subsidy of 60% and a maximum of 25000 yuan will be given for each booth, 50% and a maximum of 20000 yuan will be given for each booth in other regions, and a subsidy of up to 4 standard booths will be given for each exhibitor in the same exhibition. The maximum subsidy for a single overseas key international exhibition (excluding self organized exhibitions) shall not exceed 3 million yuan, and the maximum subsidy for a single general international exhibition and domestic key international exhibition shall not exceed 2 million yuan. At present, Wenzhou pump and valve enterprises are actively registering to participate in the 13th Shanghai International Petrochemical Pump, Valve and Pipeline Exhibition. The local industry association in Wenzhou will also organize enterprises to participate in the exhibition. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from August 25-27, 2021. At the same time, the 13th Shanghai International Chemical Equipment Expo and the 13th Shanghai International Chemical Environmental Protection Exhibition will be held. The expected exhibition area is 70000 square meters, with more than 1000 participating companies and over 100000 professional visitors.
