At 14:07 on June 25, 2024, the Chang'e-6 lander accurately landed in the designated area of Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia, and worked normally, marking the complete success of the Chang'e-6 lunar exploration mission and achieving the major innovation of sampling and returning the far side of the moon in the world. A total of about 1935 grams of lunar samples were collected.

Scientists in ground application systems use the stereomicroscope provided by Beijing Zhongxian to observe lunar soil samples. Under low magnification, the overall morphology of lunar soil can be observed, including particle size, shape, and approximate distribution. After switching to medium to high magnification, the surface characteristics and mineral composition of lunar soil particles can be observed, and possible impact craters, erosion marks, etc. on the surface of lunar soil particles can be seen. Researchers also used the electron microscope provided by Beijing Zhongxian to study the structure and composition of nanoscale mineral particles in lunar soil, gaining a deeper understanding of the microscopic characteristics of lunar materials.
