instrumentb2bBaosheng TA.HTC.20 texture analyzer assists researchers from Sichuan University in publishing papers in the international journal Small

The Shanghai Baosheng Texture Analyzer TA-XTC.20 has assisted the team led by Wang Hao from the School of Polymer Science and Engineering at Sichuan University in publishing a paper titled "Natural Underwater Bioadhesive Provides Cohesive Regulation through Hydrogen Bond Disrupting Agents: A Highly Injectable and In vivo Stable Treatment for Gastric Ulcers" in the international journal Small 2023 2307628.

Injectable bio adhesives are attractive for the treatment of gastric ulcers through minimally invasive surgery. However, the serious challenge is to develop a bioadhesive with high injectivity, rapid gel and rapid adhesion to diseased tissues, which can provide reliable protection in harsh gastric environment while ensuring strict biocompatibility standards. Based on the controllable gel between silk fibroin and tannic acid, a natural biological adhesive with adjustable cohesion was developed. By adding hydrogen bond disruptors (urea or guanidine hydrochloride), the inherent network within the biological adhesive is disrupted, leading to a transition to a fluid state for smooth injection (injection force<5N). After injection, the fluid bioadhesive wetted the tissue, and the rapid diffusion of the interfering substance triggered instantaneous in situ gel. This carefully planned process promotes the formation of a bioadhesive with persistent wet tissue affinity and mechanical properties that coordinate with gastric tissue, providing long-lasting protection for ulcer healing, as demonstrated by in vitro and in vivo validation. In addition, it can be conveniently stored (≥ 3m) after dehydration. This work provides a promising strategy for the design of highly injectable biological adhesives using natural materials, avoids any safety risks associated with synthetic materials or non physiological gel conditions, and provides potential for minimally invasive applications.

Injection force test

Fill different SFTA-U into a 5ml syringe with a needle diameter of 1.6mm. Use a texture analyzer (Shanghai Baosheng Technology TA.HTC-20) to maintain an injection speed of 0.1 mm/s and test the injection force.
