Truth Optics Debuts at the China Sodium Ion Battery Frontier Technology and Development Forum

Compared to traditional lithium batteries that use lithium ions as energy storage materials, the new sodium ion battery uses sodium salt materials that are more cost-effective. With the advancement of technology, the industrialization process of sodium ion batteries in China has significantly accelerated in recent years, and multiple companies have announced breakthroughs in the research and mass production of sodium ion batteries. The energy density of the latest developed sodium ion battery is close to that of lithium iron phosphate battery (the energy density of sodium ion battery is 100-160Wh/kg, and the energy density of lithium iron phosphate battery is 120-200Wh/kg). Therefore, the successful application and mass production of sodium ion battery will effectively compensate for the high price of lithium battery, and meet the demand for energy storage, low-power power, and street lamps in fields with relatively low energy density requirements.
In June 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission and nine other departments jointly issued the "14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Renewable Energy", which proposed to strengthen the research and development of cutting-edge and core technologies and equipment for renewable energy, and to develop and reserve high-energy density energy storage technologies such as sodium ion batteries. With the support of the government and the layout of numerous enterprises, the development of sodium ion batteries will be rapidly promoted, and the prospects for the development of sodium ion batteries are broad. With the implementation of some industrial projects, sodium ion batteries are expected to enter the first year of industrialization in 2023. Battery manufacturers such as CATL, Zhongke Haina, Sodium Innovation Energy, Dangsheng Technology, Rongbai Technology, and Zhongna Energy have successively put into production. It is expected that the shipment volume of new energy batteries with sodium ion as the core will reach 347.0 GWh by 2030.
On March 12, 2023, the "2023 China International Sodium Ion Battery Frontier Technology and Industry Development Forum" jointly hosted by Battery World Online and Wenzhou University Carbon Neutrality Innovation Research Institute came to a successful conclusion at the Ouyue Hotel in Yuntianlou, Wenzhou, Zhejiang. This conference focuses on the current popular branch of new energy technology development, sodium ion battery technology and industrial development. The conference will be held from March 10-12, 2023. The conference venue was crowded with people, with over 600 experts, scholars, and researchers from research institutions in the new energy industry, new energy lithium battery and raw material production enterprises from all over the country, as well as professionals from related supporting production and testing equipment attending the conference.
