After decades of development, although the freeze-drying technology for drugs has made great progress, there are still many problems that urgently need to be solved. During the freeze-drying process, various freezing and drying stresses are generated, causing varying degrees of denaturation of the drug. Moreover, freeze-drying itself also has disadvantages such as low drying rate, long drying time, high energy consumption during the drying process, and large investment in drying equipment.
Pharmaceutical freeze-drying machineGMP standards must be implemented to achieve high levels of sterility, dust-free, reliability, safety, and easy maintenance. For this reason, drug freeze dryers often use steam sterilization systems (SIP) to ensure sterilization. Therefore, in the future, research on pharmaceutical freeze-drying machines will continue to focus on aseptic and highly reliable methods, such as automatic feeding and vacuum control.
At the same time, a CIP cleaning system is used to perform on-site cleaning of the drying chamber, condenser, main valve, and pipelines with a preset drainage slope to ensure no liquid retention. At the same time, it has protective measures to deal with power outages, water outages, and misoperations. Once a malfunction occurs, it can protect the drugs; Implement computer control for the operation of the freeze-drying machine, with a three countermeasure system for power and water outages, and multiple interlocking automatic alarms.
Nowadays, with the rapid development of biotechnology, peptide and protein drugs continue to emerge, and peptides, proteases, hormones, vaccines, cell growth factors, and monoclonal antibodies that can be applied in clinical practice have become the focus of development. To prevent drug denaturation, the freeze-drying method is widely used to prepare solid drugs.
Therefore, in order to improve the stability and economy of drugs, further research must be conducted on the damage and protection mechanisms of drugs during freeze-drying. At the same time, low-cost and high-performance freeze-drying machines should be developed using refrigeration and vacuum equipment and control methods, and the theory of heat and mass transfer under low temperature and low pressure should be further improved to optimize the freeze-drying process.
