Full analysis of laboratory wastewater treatment technology: from classification pretreatment to deep purification
Date: 2025-11-13Read: 0
The composition of laboratory wastewater is complex, highly toxic, and fluctuates greatly. Its treatment must follow the principle of "classified collection, on-site pretreatment, and safe discharge", and build a complete technical system from the source to the end.
Step 1: Precise classification and preprocessing
This is the cornerstone of the entire processing flow. Strictly classify wastewater based on its physical and chemical properties:
Inorganic wastewater: containing strong acids, strong bases, heavy metal ions, etc. Usually, the neutralization precipitation method is used to adjust the pH value to form hydroxide or sulfide precipitates of heavy metal ions, and then separate them.
Organic wastewater: containing organic solvents, phenols, benzene derivatives, etc. Common methods include:
Extraction method: Recovery is carried out by utilizing the different distribution ratios of solutes in incompatible solvents.
Adsorption method: using activated carbon, resin, etc. to adsorb and remove organic matter.
Oxidative decomposition method: For high concentration recalcitrant organic compounds, advanced oxidation techniques such as Fenton reagent and ozone are used to decompose them into small molecule substances.
Biotoxic wastewater: Wastewater containing pathogenic microorganisms must undergo independent sterilization and disinfection treatment, usually using high temperature, high pressure, or ultraviolet light irradiation.
Step 2: Comprehensive processing and deep purification
After pre-treatment, various types of wastewater can enter the comprehensive treatment system after ensuring compatibility. The core of this stage is to degrade residual trace pollutants and ensure that the effluent meets the standards.
Biochemical treatment: using domesticated microorganisms to degrade organic matter in water, suitable for wastewater with good biodegradability, is a low-cost mainstream method.
Membrane separation technology: including microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis. Efficient retention of ions, large organic molecules, and microorganisms is a key deep purification technology for achieving water resource reuse.
Advanced oxidation process: capable of generating highly oxidizing hydroxyl radicals, mineralizing persistent organic compounds that are difficult to biodegrade, ensuring non-toxic and harmless effluent.
summary
Modern laboratory wastewater treatment is a systematic project that cannot be solved by a single method. It emphasizes the classification and reduction of pollutants from the source, and through a combination of multiple technologies, achieves full process control from pretreatment to deep purification, ultimately achieving safe removal and standard discharge of pollutants, effectively protecting the environment, and preventing ecological risks.
