Extend lifespan by 30%! Daily Maintenance and Care Guide for Ceramic Fiber High Temperature Furnace
Date: 2025-09-19Read: 0
Ceramic fiber high-temperature furnaceWith its excellent thermal insulation performance and rapid heating ability, it is widely used in fields such as material sintering and heat treatment. However, its core components, such as ceramic fiber furnaces and heating elements, are susceptible to mechanical damage, chemical erosion, and thermal stress. Scientific maintenance can significantly extend equipment life and improve performance stability. The following provides systematic guidelines from three aspects: daily maintenance, operational standards, and storage management.
1、 Daily maintenance: Details determine lifespan
Furnace cleaning
Residual cleaning: After each use, wait for the furnace to cool down to room temperature, use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to remove particles and dust, and avoid hard objects scratching the inner wall of the ceramic fiber. If contaminated with oil or corrosive substances (such as molten salts), wipe with an alcohol swab and avoid using strong acid or alkali cleaners.
Sealing inspection: Check the silicone sealing ring of the furnace door every month for aging and deformation. If hardening or cracking occurs, it should be replaced in a timely manner. Gently push and pull the furnace door to avoid heat loss caused by misaligned sealing rings.
Shell maintenance
Regularly wipe the furnace shell with a dry cloth to prevent dust accumulation from affecting heat dissipation. Check if the ventilation opening is blocked and ensure that the cooling system is unobstructed.
Heating element maintenance
Appearance inspection: Check whether the silicon carbon rod or molybdenum wire heating element is oxidized or broken every quarter. If the resistance value changes by more than 20%, a new product needs to be replaced.
Surface cleaning: Use sandpaper to lightly polish the volatile substances (such as metal oxides) deposited on the surface of the component to avoid local overheating.
Temperature control system calibration
Conduct monthly no-load temperature rise tests, place thermocouples at the center and corners of the furnace, and check the temperature difference at each point. If the temperature difference exceeds ± 5 ℃, the temperature control system needs to be calibrated or the layout of heating elements needs to be adjusted.
Electrical connection inspection
Regularly check the connections of power cords, controllers, heating coils, and other components for looseness or damage to ensure electrical safety.
2、 Operating standards: Avoiding risks and extending lifespan
Heating rate control
New furnace or restart after shutdown: It is necessary to heat up in stages (such as 0-200 ℃ and 200-400 ℃ for 30 minutes each) to avoid cracking of ceramic fibers due to uneven sudden thermal expansion.
Conventional use: Strictly follow the device's calibrated heating rate (usually ≤ 10 ℃/min), and do not directly open the furnace door for heat dissipation under high temperature conditions (>300 ℃). It should be naturally cooled to below 200 ℃ before opening.
Sample placement requirements
The sample should be kept away from the heating element and at least 2cm away from the furnace wall to prevent local overheating and damage to the fibers. The single loading capacity should not exceed 1/3 of the furnace volume to avoid excessive accumulation that affects airflow circulation.
Heavy samples (such as metal blocks) should be placed in refractory crucibles to avoid direct contact with the furnace bottom, which can cause fiber indentation.
Atmosphere and Environment Management
When used in an inert gas or vacuum environment, it is necessary to check the sealing of the gas path in advance, and the inflation rate should not be too fast (recommended ≤ 0.5L/min) to prevent airflow from impacting the fiberboard.
Under an oxidizing atmosphere (such as air), fiber oxidation may accelerate when the temperature exceeds 800 ℃. It is recommended to shorten the duration of high temperature.
Shutdown protection
Clean the furnace before stopping use, add desiccant, close the furnace door and seal it. The storage environment should be dry (humidity<60%), away from light, and electrically dehumidified every three months (heated to 100 ℃ and kept warm for 1 hour).
3、 Storage management: scientific maintenance for long-term disuse
Pre processing before discontinuation
Clean the furnace and check the status of seals and electrical components, record maintenance data for subsequent tracking.
Storage environment requirements
Store in a dry and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight and humid environments. When not in use for a long time, it is recommended to check the condition of the seals and electrical components once a year.
Regular power on inspection
Power on once every three months (heat up to 100 ℃ and hold for 1 hour) to remove moisture from the furnace and prevent insulation performance degradation.
4、 Fault prevention and emergency response
Common faults and solutions
The furnace temperature does not meet the standard: check whether the temperature controller is in good contact with the thermocouple, and investigate whether the heating element is open circuited. Temporary emergency can activate the backup heating area, but it needs to be shut down for maintenance as soon as possible.
Furnace door stuck: Do not forcefully pry it. Heat the edge of the sealing ring evenly to soften it before attempting to close it. If necessary, remove and adjust the hinge screws.
Fiber smoking: Immediately cool down and turn off the power, check for any sample residue or fiber moisture, remove foreign objects, and fully dry before use.
Principles of emergency response
Ceramic fiber high-temperature furnaceWhen encountering abnormal situations (such as temperature fluctuations or odors), immediately stop the machine and contact professional personnel for maintenance to avoid secondary damage.
