Key points for electronic balance calibration, quickly grasp
Date: 2025-11-25Read: 18
electronic balanceAs the core equipment for precise weighing in laboratories and industrial testing, the standardization of calibration directly affects the reliability of measurement data. The following are the core calibration points that are easy to understand and operate, helping you quickly get started:
1、 Preparation points before calibration
Environmental compliance: Place the balance on a level and stable tabletop, avoiding direct sunlight and airflow interference (such as near fans, doors, and windows), maintaining a stable ambient temperature (usually 18-25 ℃), and allowing the balance to adapt to the environment for at least 30 minutes in advance.
Complete tools: Prepare standard weights that meet the accuracy requirements (the accuracy of the weights should be higher than the accuracy level of the balance), ensuring that the weights are clean, free of oil stains and wear. If necessary, wear gloves to take them and avoid sweat on the hands affecting the weight.
Balance cleaning: Wipe the balance pan with a clean soft cloth to remove residual dust and sample debris, ensuring that the pan is free of foreign objects.
2、 Core points of calibration operation
Enter calibration mode: Press the "Calibration" button on the balance panel (some models are labeled as "CAL"). When the display screen shows "CAL" or weight prompt, it indicates that the calibration mode has been entered (there may be slight differences in operation for different models, please refer to the manual).
Weight placement specification: Place the standard weight steadily in the center of the scale pan, avoiding touching the edges of the scale pan or the balance shell. Wait for the display screen value to stabilize, and the balance will automatically complete the calibration calculation.
Calibration completed: After successful calibration, the display screen will show "OK" or return to weighing mode. At this point, the weight can be removed and used normally; If an error is displayed, check if the weights are placed correctly and if the environment is stable, and recalibrate.
3、 Key points to note after calibration
Verification accuracy: After calibration, a sample of known weight (or another set of standard weights) can be weighed to verify whether the measured value is consistent with the actual value. If the error is within the allowable range, the calibration is effective.
Record retention: Briefly record the calibration date, standard weight specifications, and calibration results for easy traceability and regular maintenance.
Regular calibration: In daily use, it is recommended to calibrate once a week; If the balance moves, the ambient temperature changes significantly, or the measurement data is abnormal, it needs to be recalibrated in a timely manner.
