Quartz sample pool is an important tool in the laboratory
Date: 2025-08-06Read: 0
Quartz sample cell (also known as quartz cuvette or absorption cell) is a container used for spectral analysis in laboratories. It is mainly used to load reference or sample solutions, and is used in conjunction with spectral analysis instruments (such as spectrophotometers, hemoglobin analyzers, etc.) for quantitative and qualitative analysis of substances.
Quartz sample pool is an important tool in the laboratory, and its performance characteristics and usage methods are crucial for the accuracy and reliability of experimental results. When selecting and using, experimental requirements and product performance should be fully considered to ensure the smooth progress of experimental work.
The quartz sample cell is made of high-purity fused silica glass, and has a high transmittance (≥ 90%) in the ultraviolet to visible light area (200-2500nm) to ensure accurate collection of spectral signals. Its low light absorption characteristics make it a container for high-sensitivity experiments such as fluorescence analysis and Raman spectroscopy.
Acid and alkali resistant corrosion (except hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali), can be stored for a long time in acidic or neutral solutions (such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid). In biological experiments, its inert surface reduces protein adsorption and avoids sample cross contamination.
Wide temperature resistance range (-196 ℃ to 1200 ℃), supporting high-temperature reaction monitoring (such as catalytic reaction kinetics research). Uniform wall thickness (usually 1-2mm), high compressive strength, suitable for high-pressure environments.
Main functions
Carrying samples: Provide an optical path to expose the samples to light sources, obtain spectral information by measuring the transmitted or reflected light intensity, and use it to analyze the composition, concentration, and chemical properties of the samples. ‌
Chemical stability: Made of high-purity quartz, resistant to acid and alkali corrosion (can withstand soaking in 6 grams of equivalent hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide for 24 hours without leakage), suitable for various chemical analysis scenarios. ‌
Application areas: covering industries such as chemical engineering, environmental protection, and food testing, involving UV visible and infrared spectroscopy analysis.
Cleaning and maintenance
Prioritize selecting sample pools with smooth surfaces and no scratches to reduce impurity adhesion. Immediately clean with anhydrous ethanol after the experiment, avoiding soaking in strong alkali or organic solvents.
