Details of using a handheld ternary catalytic spectrometer
Date: 2025-11-21Read: 0
The following is an introduction to the usage of the handheld ternary catalytic spectrometer:
1、 Preparation before use
1. Equipment inspection: Confirm that the appearance of the instrument is not damaged, the optical window is clean and free of stains, and the battery is fully charged (recommended to be fully charged). Check if the probe connection is stable to avoid signal interruption caused by poor contact.
2. Environmental control: Choose a dry (humidity ≤ 95%), room temperature environment, and avoid direct sunlight or high temperature and humidity conditions. Stay away from strong electromagnetic field sources and vibration interference to ensure stable operation of the instrument.
2、 Calibration and parameter setting
1. Power on self-test: Press and hold the power button to start the instrument, wait for the system self-test to complete, and ensure that the optical system and detector reach a stable state. Check if the screen display is normal and confirm that there are no error messages.
2. Standardized calibration: Enter calibration mode, place the standard sample in the detection area, enter the standard value and start the calibration program, repeat multiple times until the error is ≤± 1%. Segmented calibration is performed for different element concentration ranges to improve the analysis accuracy of complex samples. If the response value of a certain element is found to be offset, the zero position (Pb) and fullness (PK) parameters can be corrected through software.
3. Parameter optimization: Select the analysis mode (qualitative/quantitative) based on the sample type, such as choosing the "Fe mode" for iron-based materials. Adjust measurement time and spectral bandwidth to balance analysis speed and resolution.
3、 Testing process
1. Sample preparation: Ensure that the sample surface is clean and free of impurities such as oil stains and dust. For metal samples, it is recommended to perform polishing treatment to improve analysis accuracy. For irregularly shaped samples, fixtures can be used to fix them.
2. Testing steps: Align the handheld ternary catalytic spectrometer with the surface of the sample, maintaining a certain distance and angle. Press the measurement button to start spectral analysis. Wait for the instrument to process the data, and the analysis results will be displayed on the screen. Record data and save it to device memory or export it to a computer if necessary.
4、 Data processing and maintenance
1. Data analysis: Verify the accuracy of the instrument by combining laboratory chemical analysis results. Pay attention to the mutual influence and interference between different elements, and make corrections if necessary.
2. Daily maintenance: Wipe the probe and housing with a dust-free cloth after each use, and prohibit chemical cleaning agents to prevent corrosion. Regularly clean the dust accumulation on the cooling fan to prevent overheating protection from triggering. Conduct a comprehensive calibration once a month and submit it to a metrology institution for certification every quarter. Establish a calibration log to record information such as date, standard sample number, calibration results, etc.
The use of a handheld ternary catalytic spectrometer involves multiple steps and precautions. By following the above steps and recommendations, the accuracy and reliability of the instrument can be ensured, thereby improving the quality of the detection results.
