2、 Principle

1 A pair of soft steel thin sheets are bonded together to form a T-impact peel off specimen, and under specified conditions, an impact force is applied to the non bonded end of the specimen,

Make the sample peel off along its adhesive line. The peel length of structural adhesives with different toughness varies significantly, which can be used to determine the quality of their toughness.

2 By measuring the peel length of the sample and comparing and analyzing the test data of different types of adhesives, a simple and practical standard for assessing the toughness of structural adhesives based on peel length can be developed.

The allowable deviation for specimen processing shall comply with the following regulations:

1 Length of bent test piece l: ± 1mm;

2 Test piece width b: only a negative deviation of 0.2mm is allowed;

3 The thickness of the test piece t:+0.1mm, and there should be no negative deviation.

Before bonding the test piece, mechanical sandblasting roughening treatment should be carried out according to the requirements of structural adhesive for carbon steel surface treatment.

The preparation of the sample should be carried out according to the bonding process specified in the structural adhesive user manual and the adhesive layer thickness required by the design. The bonded samples should be cured and cured under pressure for 7 days. If all parties agree, the rapid curing method is allowed, which means that the samples should be immediately placed in an oven after bonding and pressure, and continuously dried at (50 ± 2) ℃ for 24 hours. After natural cooling and standing for 16 hours, the test should be conducted, and each group of samples should not be less than 5.
