The multifunctional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay reader is an experimental equipment widely used in biology and medical laboratories
Date: 2025-05-23Read: 2
The multifunctional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay reader is a commonly used laboratory instrument, mainly used for rapid and high-throughput detection of samples in microporous plates (such as 96 well or 384 well plates). It achieves effective analysis of biomolecules (such as proteins, nucleic acids), cell activity, enzyme activity, drug screening, etc. by detecting various signal types such as absorbance, fluorescence, chemiluminescence, and time-resolved fluorescence, and is widely used in biomedical research and other fields.
Its basic working principle is similar to that of a photoelectric colorimeter or spectrophotometer. The light waves emitted by the light source are converted into a beam of monochromatic light through a filter or monochromator, and enter the sample to be tested in a plastic microplate. Part of the monochromatic light is absorbed by the sample, while the other part is transmitted through the sample and irradiated onto the photodetector. The photodetector converts the optical signal into a corresponding electrical signal, which is then processed through a series of signals and sent to the microprocessor for data processing and calculation before displaying the result.
The multifunctional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay reader supports multiple detection modes, including:
Absorbance detection: used for protein concentration determination (such as BCA method), enzyme kinetics analysis, etc.
Fluorescence detection: suitable for calcium flow experiments, reporter gene analysis, etc.
Chemiluminescence: commonly used for high-sensitivity detection (such as ELISA, ATP content determination).
Time resolved fluorescence: used for highly sensitive detection of specific biomolecules.
Fluorescence polarization: used for studying intermolecular interactions, etc.
Features
Multiple detection modes: usually including three detection modes: UV visible absorption light, fluorescence intensity, and luminescence. Some multifunctional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) instruments can also support detection experiments such as "chemiluminescence", "bioluminescence resonance energy transfer", "time-resolved fluorescence", "fluorescence polarization", etc.
Automation and high-throughput: With automation capabilities, it can perform high-throughput experimental operations, process multiple samples simultaneously, and improve experimental efficiency and productivity.
Data processing and analysis: Equipped with data processing and analysis software, it can quickly and accurately process experimental data, generate visualized results, and provide various statistical and graphical tools to help users interpret and interpret experimental results.
Easy to operate: The design emphasizes flexibility and usability, usually with an intuitive user interface, simple operation steps, and preset experimental plans. Novice users can easily get started, and experienced users can also customize settings and operations.
