Common troubleshooting and maintenance points for small TRA spectral measurement systems
Date: 2025-09-11Read: 3

1、 Common troubleshooting

Signal anomaly
Possible reasons:
Insufficient light source intensity.
Fiber optic connection issue.
The parameters of the spectrometer are not set properly.
Sample room or light path contamination.
Detector malfunction.
resolvent:
Check the status of the light source, replace aging bulbs or adjust power.
Clean the fiber optic connector, re plug and unplug to ensure firmness; Check if the optical fiber is broken.
Adjust the integration time and sensitivity parameters.
Clean the sample room window and light path components with a dust-free cloth and alcohol.
Contact the manufacturer to test the detector and replace it if necessary.
Spectral distortion or decreased resolution
Possible reasons:
The grating or collimating mirror is dirty.
Optical components are damaged.
Temperature/humidity fluctuations.
Software calibration error.
resolvent:
Clean the grating and collimator lens with compressed air or specialized lens paper.
Check the integrity of optical components and replace damaged parts.
Control the temperature and humidity of the environment by using a constant temperature and humidity chamber.
Perform wavelength calibration again.
Poor system stability
Possible reasons:
External vibration.
The power supply is unstable.
The airflow in the sample chamber is unstable.
resolvent:
Place the instrument on an anti vibration table, away from vibration sources such as air conditioning and fans.
Use a regulated power supply or UPS to ensure a stable voltage of 220V ± 5%.
Seal the sample chamber to reduce airflow interference.
software glitch
Possible reasons:
Poor contact of communication line.
Software compatibility issues.
Data processing parameter settings are incorrect.
resolvent:
Check and re plug the communication cable to ensure a secure connection.
Update the software to the latest version, or contact the manufacturer for a compatible version.
Adjust data processing parameters.
2、 Maintenance points
Daily cleaning and maintenance
Optical components: Blow the grating, collimator lens, and detector window with compressed air every week to avoid scratches.
Fiber optic connector: Clean the connector end face with an alcohol swab every month to prevent oxidation.
Sample Room: Clean residual samples after each use to avoid corrosion of window materials.
Regular calibration and testing
Wavelength calibration: Use standard light sources to verify wavelength accuracy every quarter, and recalibrate if the deviation exceeds ± 0.5nm.
Light intensity calibration: Calibrate the light intensity response with a standard reference plate every six months to ensure linearity meets the requirements.
Performance testing: Contact the manufacturer annually for comprehensive testing.
environmental control
Temperature and humidity: Maintain an ambient temperature of 20 ± 5 ℃ and a humidity of ≤ 60% to avoid the formation of condensation water.
Dustproof: Used in a clean room or equipped with a dust-free cover to reduce dust from entering the light path.
Corrosion prevention: Avoid using in environments containing corrosive gases.
Operating Specifications
Power on sequence: First turn on the power, then start the software, and finally load the sample; The shutdown sequence is reversed.
Sample processing: Avoid using strong acid or alkali samples to prevent corrosion of the sample chamber.
Data backup: Regularly export measurement data to prevent software failures from causing data loss.
Spare Parts Management
Reserve commonly used spare parts to ensure quick replacement in case of malfunction.
Record the replacement time of spare parts and plan for replacement in advance.
